I have been working at AlliedBarton full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Depending on the location, it is decent pay for not having to work very hard. Some locations offer a set schedule. It is a professional environment.

    Cons

Absolutely no sick time and very limited vacation. If employee is sick they will be written up. Terrible benefits. Little room for advancement. Also, you are forced to take off holidays without pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide employees with better time-off policies. Give employees a couple paid sick days a year and holiday pay.

I worked at AlliedBarton full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible work schedule. Lots of at-your-own-pace training available at all levels of the organization.

    Cons

No upper management support, low salary, long hours, on-call 24/7. Upper management preaches treating security officers well, but do not practice treating their managers with the same respect and courtesy as officer positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Support your operations manager with the resources that they need to carry the company philosophy.

I have been working at AlliedBarton full-time for less than a year

    Pros

This may be a mixed bag but this job has a lot of dead time. Out of an 8 hour shift, normally 6 and a half hours will leave you with nothing to do.

The job is simple enough to learn.

I can't speak for others but the regional manager for my site is extremely kind and knowledgable.

    Plenty of overtime opportunities.

    Cons

This may be a mixed bag but this job has a lot of dead time. Out of an 8 hour shift, normally 6 and a half hours will leave you with nothing to do.

More often than not you'll run into good and bad supervisors. I unfortunately had to deal with the latter. This supervisor was completely unqualified and was not an efficient leader or at anything else for that matter.

No room for growth at all. I was told in the interview process that the company hires a lot from within. I have yet to see one raise, promotion, etc. for myself or anyone else.

The pay is good in terms of being above the minimum wage but making a career out of this job will probably put you close to the poverty line.

Expect for building personnel to be more of a burden than a help.

The way some things are done are just illogical.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Raise pay slightly and make sure people in leadership positions aren't completely unqualified or horrible human beings.

I worked at AlliedBarton part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Co workers, different things at work, job skills learned, shift work

    Cons

No raises after two years. Most account managers don't really care about their employees. Everyone is replacable, corporate management would rather get a new office than pay any employees 50¢ more an hour. Corporate doesn't provide much training. Account managers/site directors mandate online training but thats only so they can get their annual bonus. Doesn't do any thing for the worker.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being horrible people. Invest in your employees instead of just firing them.

    Pros

They have a lot of team orientated things. They train you in many different things. The sights are amazing and you can do more than a lot of other companies. The benefits are amazing! And you can grow with the company. There is always a way to move up.

    Cons

The pay is not as much as you do for it. There are certain people they hire that should have never been hired to begin with.

I have been working at AlliedBarton full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

This company is the 2nd top private security company nationwide, it's more professional than the other security companies out there. And there majority of the security officers are unionized with SEIU local 32bj. They now have Vacation pay, Sick Leave, Personal Days, Holiday Pay, Medical, Dental , Vision ,and 401k plan.

    Cons

But this company don't help there security officers to advance to the next level ,and they never look out for you while on unemployment & on reassignment with the company for 90 days.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to look out more for there security officers when it comes downs to career opportunity, and reassigment to another worksite.
