I have been working at AlliedBarton full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people are great to work with and the environment is friendly

    Cons

There is alot of faviortism that plays a big role in the company. Post orders are do not apply to everyone and simply not fair at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay better attention to whats going on and do not assume based on rumors.

I have been working at AlliedBarton full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - It's a steady job with steady pay. As long as you show up on time, do your job, and put in your hours, you'll be fine.

    - Excellent for retired Military of Law Enforcement officers that are currently collecting their benefits.

    - Great job for college students looking to gain some work experience in the Law Enforcement field.

    Cons

    - Low pay for Non-Commissioned Security Officers depending on site in which you are placed after hire.
      As low as $8.00/hr.

    - You must work for 1 year before you are eligible to start EARNING vacation HOURS.

    - No sick time allotted.

    - Difficult to get in contact with supervisors when there are concerns.

    - You are required to work overtime/additional 4 to 8hrs. if your relief doesn't show up. (which happens often)

    - Management/Supervisors slow to fill vacated/open positions, forcing officers to work 12hr. - 16hr. shifts for weeks, sometimes months.

    - No raises

    - No night time differential

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Offer more incentives to officers; E.g. Christmas bonuses, give aways. Anything to boost morale.

    - Rethink the way officers earn vacation time. No vacation time at all for your first year is bad. Furthermore, earning only up to 1 week of vacation time after working for a full 2 years is just horrible. Come on, you'll can do better than that for your officers.

    - Everyone gets sick. It's only right everyone has some kind of sick time.

    - Shift supervisors should be better vetted.

It doesn't seem like they know what they're doing most of the time.(the supervisors I've worked under) Properly scheduling shifts, and making sure payroll is correct is extremely important for officers. Shift supervisors should be expected to at least get these two thing right more than 95% of the time. There is no room for incompetence when dealing with people's time and money.

I have been working at AlliedBarton full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Rate of pay is high for contract security and where I work is very safe.

    Cons

They do not consider the employees very much. The bottom line is more affected by the client so who cares that the guards don't accrue vacation time until they have worked there a year and there is no such thing as a paid sick day. The benefits are laughable. It does not feel like there is room to grow within the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sometimes more than an email is required to address something.

I have been working at AlliedBarton

    Pros

There are a lot of sites, if you have a pulse you will probably get the job. It isn't hard to get promotions.

    Cons

Next to no benefits. The reason they get so many sites across the city is because they give the lowest health care benefits. It frees them up to low ball the competition.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give respect to the people who work for you. Security is a revolving door. When you have good workers, make them feel like they are part of the team.

I worked at AlliedBarton full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They are always hiring considering employees are always leaving.

    Cons

No care for employees health or well being. they will have you work dbl shifts back to back to back to back. At one point i earned 82 hours in a week and had to fight tooth and nail to make sure i was payed all of my overtime.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

hire better people and treat them as fellow human beings.

I have been working at AlliedBarton full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

At most sites you are attached to people with good character

    Cons

Management isn't all that great, The hourly wage is horrible compared to most other security companies and the benefits may work if you are young and single between the ages of 18-25, But if you are in that age range or older with or without families its horrible.
