ConsThe whole heathecare industry is now tied to Obamacar

Challenging Work and Some Good People

    Associate Project Manager (Current Employee)
    Raleigh, NC

    Pros-Fast paced work environment
-Some corporate veterans with lots of experience and able to give sound advice
-Great location and easy access to parking

    Cons-"More-with-less" culture developing
-Odd politics between some upper management
    -Promotions seem slow
    -Formal reviews are lacking
-Multitasking is stressed to the point that inefficient/ineffective work flow results

Advice to Senior ManagementIn order to avoid harming the customers and employees, avoid corporate-political banter, be willing to spread the work load equally (i.e. hire/train more people), and be willing to pay for effective/efficient labor (i.e. "you get what you pay for").

ProsGood Salary, Good benefits, matching 401k and generous vacation time.

ConsVERY in personal "on-boarding" process. Everything is done via Emails and a maze of web sites.

Advice to Senior ManagementImprove employee relations.

    What a mess!

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThere were not pros at this company.

ConsManagement does not know what they are doing. They do not care about their customers. They treat employees like children.

Co-workers awesome, never can stop working, upper management out of touch

    Consultant (Former Employee)

    ProsCo-workers: knowledge, helpfulness, teamwork
Work from home option (required if implementation consultant)
    Benefits through 2012-2013

ConsManagement is hypocritical -- sends surveys, doesn't listen or follow-up to realistic suggestions. There is no work-life balance despite the 'program du jur' from HR trying to spin otherwise. Do not expect or anticipate any type of bonus or promotion in the near or far future, regardless of your true performance, knowledge, satisfaction with clients, etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't put out a survey or program unless you are actually willing to follow up and listen to the employees. Very few are fooled by hypocrisy and true talent will not be retained if anything better comes in the marketplace.

Steer clear - management here is a mess!

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsDecent salaries, some smart people remain who didn't jump ship with the recent layoffs (spun by the company as an aggregation of "centers of excellence" which is transparent corp-speak for layoff), WFH allowed. Worked alongside some awesome people and made a few life-long friends.

ConsMiddle and upper management are more concerned with their titles and cliques than with their reportees and software quality. Numerous recent "reorgs" have spiraled morale and loyalty into the dirt since nobody trusts the company anymore. Incredible amount of offshore outsourcing which may save money but definitely impacts quality. Definitely the worst quality software I've ever worked on -- would actively avoid hospitals running this software for fear of my own personal safety.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop playing good-ol'-boys club and start paying attention to what's going on with the quality of the software your company makes. Construct a plan to go forward and stick to it! Flush out the rest of the Cisco transplants that are left in the company.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Database Administrator

    Database Administrator (Current Employee)

ProsAllows working from home. Good quality co-workers. Starting pay is very good. My direct manager is the best manager I have ever had. PTO is given in one lump sum upon starting and on Jan 1 of each year and you do not have to wait for accrual to take PTO. Overall very happy with benefits.

ConsPay raises are not all that great. Medical benefits cost has gone up. Big company but still has weird policies from the smaller company that it started out as.

Advice to Senior ManagementStarting salary is good, wish you would have better raises for good employees.

ProsGood benefits & ok compensation. Great team of professionals to work with. Work life balance was good until latest management change.

ConsLeadership constantly changed while there. Many unnecessary changes due to re-organization.
