Pros
good work culture. good benefits and infrastructure
Cons
Not much scope for lateral growth
Advice to Senior Management
Nothing as of now. They should hire themselves not thr consultancy
Pros
If you like travel and client interaction this is a great job
Cons
Poorly scoped contracts result in client dissatisifaction and additional challenges for project teams
Advice to Senior Management
Your bread and butter are the project implementations and remote employees, making it easy to be on the road and simplifying things like expense reports and travel policy would make it easier to focus on the client
Pros
Decent Salary
Decent Benefits
In all honesty that's about it, as you can see from the others who have posted.
Cons
This list could go on for days but to name a few:
-EXTREMELY Poor Management
-Absolutely no formal training for new employees
-Split company cultures
-Incorrect job descriptions advertised
-Teams are stagnant and not willing to come into the 21st century
-This company is very reactive and not proactive and leads to very long work weeks and headaches because there are no clearly defined processes.
Advice to Senior Management
The board should probably get rid of Glen Tullman and many of the other "good ole' boys" in executive management positions as they may have had a vision for the company at one point. However, it's quite clear that with the size that the company has evolved to, they are not competent enough to put it into action.
The culture within the company doesn't exist and is still very split between the merged companies.
Train managers to treat to their employees with respect and dignity. If Allscripts wants the best employees then they are going to have to treat them as they are the best this has nothing to do with salary because many people know Allscripts pays a decent salary.
Pros
1. Benefits and time off are OK.
2. In this economy anything associated with healthcare is some what stable.
3. You do meet some very smart people with medical educations and work experience, but they don't stay long.
Cons
I don't need 5 layers of management that never ever once have been to my location, and to top it off never ask me about the environment or what issues or ideas I may have.
I have seen people promoted to VP in a capacity they have no experience in, never ask a question and just start changing processes and procedures.
I don't find my position very challenging and see so many processes put in place that are totally ridicules and dysfunctional because of clueless management.
Advice to Senior Management
I was hoping after the merger of Allscripts and Eclipsys things would change for the better. It's worse! The CEO came to are location, and I quote said (If you see something that's not right you need to say something, ) In my department they don't care what you think, and they sure don't want to hear for you. I almost said it, but why waste your time.
Pros
Growing company, many locations, healthcare industry
Cons
Same managment - Outsourcing, Growth opportunities minmal
Advice to Senior Management
Look at the workplace environment and employee sentiment closely at all of your locations, not just the headquarters
Pros
Great products and first-line employees
Great clients that want us to succeed
Cons
Senior Execs that do not know the products or business and profess to represent the client perspective while damaging the company and clients with mindless "make work" initiatives
One of the few enterprise software company that still thinks client support can be delivered offshore
Advice to Senior Management
listen to your clients
Pros
Renowned company without any layoffs
Cons
Experience in the company is not recognized.Doesn't consider the employees importance as equivalent to satisfying customers
Pros
There were some great peers
Cons
Management doesn't know what they're doing.
Advice to Senior Management
Get your heads out of your rear
Pros
It's a fulltime job at a decent wage with benefits. Traveling to client sites ispart of the job, which has allowed me to visit some great places, company paid.
Cons
No career advancement opportunities unless you are a manager. A corporate bureaucracy and shoddy management with a singular focus on revenue generation.
Advice to Senior Management
Share the wealth; be more appreciative of non-manager employees and their contributions to the company; promote from within the company.
Pros
Pay checks are deposited on time.
Cons
Company management received results of latest customer satisfaction surveys and the scores were very low. Seems like more clients are dis-satisfied with Allscripts then are satisified. The main reasons where company sells vaporware, slow or little response to support issues, little confindent the outsouced resources in India know what they are doing.
The company is like a revolving door with a large number of talent employees leaving. People are more willing to take their chances in a down economy than work for Allscripts.
Advice to Senior Management
The shareholders should vote to remove of the CEO, President and CFO before the company goes completely out of business. The client base is very unhappy with the direction manage has taken the company and will most likely leave, as many of your employess are, as soon as they can dig themselves out of the finacial messages you have created for them.
