Chicago, IL

Former Employee – worked at Allscripts full-time for less than a year

ProsGood benefits such as medical, dental, vision. Vacation policy is fairly aggressive and you have opportunity to buy stock shares beyond six-month tenure.

ConsYou may be hired in at below market wage. Many in management are women, which does not bode well for males, small chance of promotion within first year and you may hit glass ceiling rather quickly if you get on the wrong side of management.

Advice to Senior ManagementNone really as they seem to have all the needed answers.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

ProsWork flexibility, friendly people. Message from upper management is positive (but is not necessarily seen in the action of middle management).

ConsChanges are poorly communicated. Large organization and often not clear who or what department is responsible.

Raleigh, NC

Current Employee – been working at Allscripts full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGreat opportunities to learn the industry and be part of a big change. I like my managers and their vision as well as the company's overall mission.

ConsEmployee tracking (hours and projects) can be counterproductive and take away from your energy and enthusiasm.

Advice to Senior ManagementAllow employees in certain positions to get out from the yolk of tracking every minute they spend on certain projects. Focus on outcomes and not inputs. Think of Google who allows their employees to spend at least 25% of their time on projects outside of their division.
