Pros
good benefits and growth opportunity if perform good
Cons
no immediate growth need to work really hard
Advice to Senior Management
pay more
Pros
Work / Life Balance is positive
Cons
No career growth / limited opportunities
Pros
I have been here for internships in the past. Decided to take the job to further grow. I interviewed with other places, but the fact that I chose Allstate should mean something.
Cons
Poor management decisions. I am also not quite fond of some of the work spaces. Some departments have better facilities than others.
Advice to Senior Management
They make poor and often slow decisions. Please do something about the constant lay-offs that have been occurring the past few years. People do not feel safe.
Pros
Generous benefits (PTO, medical premiums recently reduced, wellness incentives).
Cons
Slow pay growth, conservative raises for the past 5 years, 401(k) match tied to customer loyalty index.
Advice to Senior Management
Offer more flexible schedule options including more opportunity for remote and alternative schedules (e.g. four 10-hr days).
Pros
*work/life balance (lots of paid time off and flexible work schedules are offered)
*good training program with professional trainers
*reputable company
*wonderful co-workers
Cons
*compensation was not competitive & there were no raises for the past 2 years
*very few promotions
*no recognition
*company tries to outsource as much work as possible to India and Ireland
Advice to Senior Management
Stop trying to please only the shareholders with your cost cutting. Salaries are not competitive and employees are tired of not getting raises when the CEO makes millions of dollars each year. Put your employees first & keep the jobs in the USA!
Pros
strong company support, good working conditions, opportunity for advancement, great benefits. everyone works together. Consistantly offering help if needed, great hours and days
Cons
hard to advance, people stay a very long time. Rates always changing so re-quoting is always necessary to do over and over. Not enough products to offer
Advice to Senior Management
continue doing what you are doing
Pros
People, benefits, lots of opportunity to develop skills. Pay is pretty decent as well.
Cons
Do not expect to see promotions based on merit, especially as you move up in the organization. Very fragmented strategy with no obvious line of sight to the employees. Actions of leadership often contradict verbal priorities.
Advice to Senior Management
Measure and act on measurements. Metrics never lie!
Pros
A lot of truly great people and a very well recognized brand. The perception of the company is very positive in regard to corporate responsibility and community involvement. Most employees really want to do well as a group.
Cons
Performance measurement is very subjective and some management is territorial, holding back their direct reports. Home Office communication to the field does not seem to apply to their operation. Home Office processes sometimes appear half baked and not fully thought through.
Advice to Senior Management
Technology is too divided and unstable...great ideas but need to be fully tested before rollout to ensure quality. Rates for products are high and do not offer employee discounts.
Pros
- Work/Life Balance
-Training
-"Family" environment
-Knowledgeable employees
-Security
Cons
-Compensation is not competitive
-Heavy workload
-No recognition
-Poor performance merits
-Everything is a priority
-No diversity in claims
-No promotions and/or advancement opportunities in your designated areas of responsibilities
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on your employees FIRST! Promote a truly collaborative environment. Realize when you have been in your position too long and retire!
Pros
good benefits, ok salary for some occupations.
Cons
management is a mess and needs to be replaced.
Advice to Senior Management
Fix the management problems.
