I have been working at Allstate full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The benefits are top notch. Since Continuous Improvement is being implemented, the employees are empowered to make changes.

    Cons

Communication between the various departments can be so bad it is utterly non-existent. Long-term planning needs to be more solid.

    Advice to Management

Get all of the stakeholders at the table before (especially end users) before making a decision.

I worked at Allstate full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It was a great learning experience about small business ownership. The agent owned the business and was allowed to run it on his own.

    Cons

An agent has full control. If he was a dictator it became a terrible place to work and so forth. It was a good learning experience none the less.

    Advice to Management

Check on agents style of leadership to see if it is capable of continuing business.

Depending on your work shift there isn't much of a work life balance. Room for growth seems overshadowed

    Advice to Management

I worked at Allstate full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of PTO. Co-workers are easy to get along with. Easy to take a day off on short notice if an emergency should arise.

    Cons

Sub-par heath insurance, out of touch management, very hard to move up. tremendous turnover. 22 of 24 co-workers that I started with no longer with the company three years later.

    Advice to Management

Need a more competitive salary. Working for a Fortune 100 company should not require you to have a part time job as well.
