I have been working at Allstate full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very good salary if you have been with the company before 1995. Wonderful coworkers that keep you coming back. Exceptional benefits for you and your family. Respectful work environment where diversity is respected. Time flies daily because of the amount of work to be done. Salaried employee.

    Cons

Salaried employee you may work 60 hours a week but get paid for 40. Unattainable goals that give management a reason not to give raises, "better luck next year, keep trying" workload that is three times or more higher than 15 years ago. what the company sees as proper staffing the employees just shake their heads at.

    Advice to Management

To be the best insurer in the industry you must staff your claims department more than properly. This is where the actions speak louder then the Good Hands motto. This is the only way that we can deliver the exceptional customer service that our customers deserve. Yes it costs a little more but this is why we are #7 or 8 and not #1 or 2 like we used to be.

    Former Employee - Predictive Modeler

    Pros

This review is for the predictive modeling group. Relaxed atmosphere, fun group.

    Cons

Old, slow corporate environment. When I was there they seemed to have trouble sufficiently rewarding high-quality "individual contributors" - the way "up" was into management. In theory this wasn't true, but it seemed to work that way in practice. Maybe it's changed.

    Advice to Management
