    Pros

Innovative and quick to the market. Management was fair.

    Cons

To reach upper management, you would need to relocate.

I worked at Alltel full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It was great being part of a team. They always listened to us. Taught us core values and made sure we upheld them. It was a great place to work. Everyone was treated fairly and dealt with honestly.

    Cons

There were many levels in the company. It was hard to get to know others outside of your core business unit, however that did take place the more you moved up in the company.

    Advice to Management

The 360-degree review process was outstanding, however it might pay to re-evaulate your employees and do a skills assessment every 18 months or so. I was turned down for many jobs I was well qualified for as an internal applicant with no reason why.

I worked at Alltel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They make our government system look flawless.

    Cons

Idiot leadership, no structure, no organization, back-stabbing liars. This is not the real Alltel. Alltel closed in July 2009! What exists are a bunch of monkeys in suits and dresses pretending to run a business comprised of silly employees and 2 cans tied together with a string for a network. They are failures and they need to hand it over to people with real business skills instead of C.A.R.E university training. This company is a joke. Job hunters - keep it moving.

    Advice to Management

Fire yourselves, and get a college degree.

I worked at Alltel full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pay is better then average for retail.

    Cons

Upper Management and Corporate is centered hundreds of miles for the closest store. The computer systems are completely unreliable. Management in Ohio forces employees to work more then 40 hours, but claim 40 for fear of being fired.

    Advice to Management

    Resign

    Pros

Good work hours, pay and benefits. Worked indepently unsupervised. Company vehicle. Daily travel at the most 150 miles. Discounts on wireless service.

    Cons

Management needs to buy a clue. Promotions based on what have you done lately. Last minute communications were prevelant always.

    Advice to Management

Have a better thought process when it comes to sales. Don't do whatever it takes and break company policy for your advantage.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

there was a lot of projects, a lot of work. Some managers were better than others.

    Cons

The entire time i was there those who were in charge of projects conducted them all incorrectly. They would come to our department after the project was already started and tell us - you have to get this done on this day. They never came to us prior so that we could plan, organize, and speka up to let them know that their project dates were not realistic. This happen over and over. The result was that our deparmtnet had to drop everythign and spend much more money to get our tasks completed on time. There are better ways to run projects. Oh, and another thing is this cimpany was based on the Old boys network and they stuck to that for many many years. Finally the last several years that old mentality had changed.

    Advice to Management

they need to listen to their employees
