Advice to Senior Management
- Continue to provide growth opportunity during a down economy. Thanks for taking Alpha's top performers to Tucson, AZ for award trip! The dude ranch / spa was amazing.
Pros
The company provides many opportunities
They strive to bring greater incentives each year to employees
Some days are longer than others but I'm placed in position of trust and am making a difference.
Senior management communicates ideals but also communicates that we are growing together and that it cannot be about just one person
I get out what I put in
Cons
Isolation comes with the job but I stay connected with my local team and client interaction
I once thought I had limited feedback but that is not the case. My manager sometimes gets busy in support but it is not that she doesn't care but I just needed to take personal responsibility and it's helped tremendously.
Driving sometimes is tough but not that bad
Advice to Senior Management
I read other comments but disagree with many as their is an abundance of opportunity if one takes initiative. My team is positive but some former employees may be more entitled and desire to be catered.
I would encourage management to continue to reward performers and not try to make every one happy. Some people will never be happy. I'd also encourage mgmt to continue to find ways to keep teams connected but that has improved quite a bit
Pros
- Flexible schedule since there is no centeral office to clock in
- You get to work outside year around
-Able to meet connections within the construction industry
- Exposure to compliance regulations for stormwater field
Cons
- Job revolves around weather (ex. Snow or Rain) twice as much work
-Hard to plan socially due to a constant change in schedule
-Drive in your own personal vehicle and aren't compensated for the amount of driving done
-Limited people interaction
-Slim to none growth within the company
-Unorganized with paperwork, communication, etc., due to no office in area
-Long hours driving alone
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees who wanted to try and help the company be successfuly for the future. Treat your employees as if you were working in the position that they are. Offer rewards/raises so the employee feels part of a company that cares.
Pros
--You work out of your car with no central office to check in at, and therefore have a flexible schedule
--You get to work outside
--Responsibility from the start
Cons
--Traveling makes up 95% of the job. This will all be done in your personal vehicle and the salary does not take this into account.
--You will not be trained adequately, but instead thrown out into the job to learn on your own with all repercussions from mistakes solely your fault.
--Minimal to no growth potential
--The pay, benefits, and paid time off are less than similar jobs at other companies.
--Managers espouse high ideals but their actions do not reflect them
Advice to Senior Management
I would recommend listening to the EAs and taking their suggestions into account instead of brushing them off.
There needs to be a stronger connectivity. Being by yourself all day is extremely lonely and takes a harsh toll.
EAs need company cars or at least more compensation for wear and tear on their vehicles.
