I have been working at Alpine Consulting full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

I have been very pleased with the consistent focus of the organization to not be just a staffing organization but stay the path of high value solutions. Compensation is above average and work-life balance is outstanding. I am so pleased with how the company is very aware of family commitments and how flexible they always have been for me. Our health care is a critical focus as well as our other benefits - compared to many companies I considered, their benefits at Alpine were nearly always superior.

    Cons

A lot of staff works across the country so connecting can be challenging at times but they use technology to help and they bring all employees together periodically. I have no other cons that come to mind.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the excellent open communications going and consider bringing the employees together at least twice a year and for a bit longer period of time to collaborate. You have a great organization and I am thankful to work with a strong team in which I can learn from and contribute to.

I have been working at Alpine Consulting full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The most amazing combination of leaders and developers you'll ever meet. The benefits and compensation are very competitive. This is the place where loyalty pays off and the room to grow and succeed is exponential.

I am honestly proud knowing that my work and time is highly appreciated and is making a difference not only in the company, but in clients we serve.

The flexibility and the openness of the company is what makes Alpine the place to be. Being able to openly share your thoughts, ideas and have others actually listen is priceless.

    Cons

If you are not used to working in an agile environment then there will be an initial learning curve that you will need to overcome to keep pace.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work! You guys are awesome!

I have been working at Alpine Consulting full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Remote work is fantastic along with affordable great benefits. All other employees are knowledgeable making all work a breeze to work on. Low stress job with a high return on enjoyment.

    Cons

Remote work makes it difficult to get to know most of the people one emails, calls, or chats with. Expect to get to know a select few people well and the rest will come with time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Collaboration tools used for project management could be used, such as confluence. Currently, it's difficult to ramp up to a new project simply because no one has any documentation for anything nor knows who does.

I worked at Alpine Consulting full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Work from home 95% of the time unless face-to-face required with a client, benefits and salary are strong.

    Cons

No process whatsoever. Inexperienced project managers. No communication between senior management and development resources. Lack of knowledge in resource planning. Never implement changes they say they will. Impossible bonus structure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The senior management needs to get more involved in the projects and/or hire the right people to properly manage projects.

I have been working at Alpine Consulting full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    * Good work/life balance
    * Truly supports remote working
    * Open door policy with upper management (including owners)
    * Management shows appreciation when extra effort is put in (more than just a "pat on the back")

    Cons

    * Lots of room for growth in defining processes and policies (not necessarily a con. It can be good to be part of the building of the base structure)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work

I have been working at Alpine Consulting full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

A fantastic work-from-home policy. I work with a group of highly intelligent and motivated folks. We have a great list of clients--nice to know your hard work is appreciated by all.

We're not a new company--so quite stable with reasonable growth year-after-year. We have process, but not so much process that it gets in the way of doing your project work.

I like the fact that everyone feels comfortable sharing their ideas... And, the fact that others actually listen to them!

    Cons

Not really a negative, but if you are someone that needs to work in an office environment every day, then this is not the place for you...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep being honest and open with us, transparency is key...

I have been working at Alpine Consulting full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Very SMART people to work with.
    Training is VALUED
Nice balance of technologies to work with and opportunities to learn new technologies
    Diverse client base
    Work/Life balance is important
    Work From Home options
    No office politics
Ownership has an open-door policy to talk with them AND they mean it!!
Ownership is open and honest about company performance - just ask.
    Low volume of turn-over year-to-year.

    Cons

Very flat organization; so career growth by titles is not there. (is a con for those who value management titles).
Can spend some time on the bench. (Can be a con but use it to get training.)
Can be working for a client for very long extended periods at a time.

Current Intern - Project Intern in Hanoi (Vietnam)
Current Intern - Project Intern in Hanoi (Vietnam)

I have been working at Alpine Consulting as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

+ Have the chance to use and practice English usually.
+ Founded and led by an American expert.
+ Friendly environment, collegues often support each other to implement required tasks
+ Due to the company's small scale, interns are encouraged to learn independently and get involved in numerous different tasks

    Cons

+ Its tie budget and paucity of experience can make it difficult to compete with rivals in its industry.
+ Partly because of economic quagmire, the company has been encountering some problems in selling its costly high-class products.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Diversifying line of products to attract more potential customers, especially middle income customers

    Neutral Outlook
