Pros
Good benefits, cookies on Friday, events for holidays. The attorneys themselves are very nice, helpful, accommodating if needed.
Cons
HR has no regard for the staff, unless you are an attorney. There were a few attorneys that who did obscene things and HR looks the other way. The starting pay is lousy compared to other large firms.
Advice to Senior Management
HR has no regard for the staff, unless you are an attorney
Pros
A&B has a great reputation in the legal community, and a lot of people want to work there. A&B has a plush working environment and generally a good culture. A&B does a great job of trying to look out for its people. In this economy, I don't get the feeling that A&B wants to cut jobs.
Cons
There are very little opportunities for legal secretaries or other support staff to gain promotions. Annual bonuses for support staff seem small compared to other law firms, regardless of talent and value added to the firm.
Advice to Senior Management
Honesty is the best policy and even the insignificant of staff add a great deal of value to the firm.
Pros
They are very good to employees, even the staff.
Cons
The work is sometimes very difficult and has to be accomplished within a short period of time.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to treat employees well and they will treat the firm well too.
