“Could become an innovation leader again, if they figure out who they are.”

Pros

Altec Lansing has a great heritage in the music industry. The company embraces new ideas and encourages creativity. Senior Management is accessable and treats everyone with respect.

Cons

The company is very indecisive with direction. Messages are either unclear or just not communicated. There is a huge disconnect amongst the various departments - basically, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Salaries are low and promotions are far and few between.

Advice to Senior Management

Get back to innovation and celebrate the heritage! You have to lead instead of follow.

“Great atmosphere, chaotic decision making”

Pros

People are smart, kind, and human to each other. Lots of friendships inside the company. Vicki is a very genuine, nice person and fun to work for.

Cons

Decisions are unclear, often reversed, with the end result a sense of chaos. Hard to feel you are trusted to move forward without senior management's blessing. Too much micro-management in many departments.

Advice to Senior Management

Give us a clear strategy and then get out of the way so we can execute it.
