    Pros

A BPO as usual, work stress and incentives would depend on the process you are in.

    Cons

Lots: You can be terminated at any time of the day for no valid reason and if you're the lucky one - you don't even get to take your bags home. Their performance valuation is extremely unjust - they would rate you on parameters that would depend on the clients ability to complete the work (something you have no control over). There is a lot of internal politics.

    Advice to Management

Advice to the HR and Management: Employees are your assets and are not cattle. If you can understand this at a macro level, it will make a lot of difference at micro level.

    Pros

Above average salary and amazing peer group. Altisource is really selective in their selection and prefers only top B School grads for their MDP program.

    Cons

Work tends to be repetitive. Also I feel that organization is a little bureaucratic at times. People are afraid to take chances as if one messes up he/she will be fired.

    Advice to Management

Be realistic to the goals that you set for the organization. I have been part of meetings where goals set were to capture 100% market share.

    Pros

Salary was good. Independence to work.

    Cons

People don't know what product they are building and busy in drawing room. Engineers don't know what they are building.

    Advice to Management

Have more developers who does actual work with lot of directors and less engineers it became a top heavy organization.

    Pros

Great company to learn new technology and gain knowledge Management gives almost a free hand to achieve the end objective the way we want. Flexibility to take work home - a lot of employees get option to come in early and leave after 9 hours only with the commitment that they will available as soon as they reach home

    Cons

Very political environment Each department works as an independent company and projects/ programs spanning across multiple departments is very difficult to execute as there is very little collaboration across departments. Extremely stringent timelines for large scale projects impacting quality and breadth of product features All projects are driven by customer defined hard timelines. Project plans are always built backwards from the end date and not based on effort and scheduling.

    Advice to Management

As a product company, extreme focus has to be put on product quality and strong architecture. Product features implemented should be robust even if that means less number of features. Product Management has to be decoupled from development management supervision, else technical challenges [difficult to implement features] will override product essential features [because stringent timelines will always remain] Stop firing people - they are your greatest assets.

    Pros

The company is on a growth trajectory hence there is a lot to learn and experiment. The work is challenging and interesting. A very flexible and employee friendly culture. Altisource attracts talent from the most reputed institutes and organizations across India, hence the talent pool is remarkable

    Cons

Company offers free of cost transport, which is a good thing! But it sometimes is annoying because of the lack of proper coordination.

    Pros

Good Infrastructure, Decent Working Conditions, Multi-options Cafeteria, Vibrant Employees, Decent Salary & Benefits, Rewards & Recognition. Enjoyed as an employee as an Administration ensuring Compliance.

    Cons

One cannot be sure of long term employment as the situation becomes dynamic anytime. HR should also hear the Employees side of story and decisions should not be biased. They need to spend time on Employee Retention rather than manage Employee Attrition. Past Employees are rarely considered for similar opportunities in future.

    Advice to Management

Leadership Team & Senior Management should instill sense of security among employees. They need to be approachable. A proper control mechanism will ensure there is no victimization of any employee by any Manager

    Pros

Good shift timing work life balance Fixed salary no variable pay

    Cons

Nothing to gain for IT professionals Management is from the non-IT background where they don't understand even the basic technicalities of your role you would be expected to be an all rounder irrespective of your speciality

    Advice to Management

Have a concrete set of experienced guys at the management level if they are handling product development projects.
