    Pros

Great clients and smart colleagues. Depending on your area of expertise and your office location there could be a ton of travel, however, the firm is very flexible. For example, you can fly out Monday's and return on Thursday evening and work from home when you are in town. The compensation is respectable; the firm will reward you for putting in the billable hours.

    Cons

Consultants need to be careful to balance the compensation scheme with the hours put in so that you do not burn yourself out. The MD's typically will not look out for this so you must do it yourself. The relationships among leadership and business units could be better...much better. It is a rather lean company so don't expect any free lunches.

    Advice to Management

You can sell work but if you fail in the execution it may very well be the last time you service that client. Greater emphasis and value needs to be placed on those who execute...not just those who sell. Relationships building and selling add-on work IS sales too.

Great place to work. Entrepreneurial culture. Compensation well above peers.

    Cons

Nothing that I haven't experienced at other consulting firms (e.g. work/life balance).

    Pros

    Great colleagues and employee perks.

    Cons

unreasonable hours, below average salaries for corporate staff, ridiculous work load, and no upward mobility

    Advice to Management

Allow flexible schedules and telecommuting, you preach about work life balance but don’t provide any option other than vacation time .

    Pros

    - Great mix of seasoned operators and consultants
    - Good variety of "edgy" projects
    - Low bureaucracy

    Cons

    - ex-Anderson Boys Club
    - Used to be a meritocracy: in more recent years, buddies of MDs get promoted or stick around in senior positions for years without delivering
    - Do not take care of their folks - an MD can treat their team horribly and a blind eye will be turned as long as $$ are coming in regardless of client or employee impact

    Advice to Management

Walk the talk - take a good, hard look if you are still taking care of your people and promoting them on merit. Business growth through the buddy system will be limited - growth will only happen through delivering good work and having engaged employees.

    Pros

Great culture, work life balance, values-centric organization, room for development/progression of career, good vacation and time off

    Cons

somewhat unorganized in certain areas, very subjective evaluation for raises/bonuses

    Advice to Management

consider promotions/raises more than once per year.
