    Pros

Great work experience. Great PTO for new hires. Ability to move up if you can hang in there. Yearly bonus.

    Cons

Can be very demanding especially during budget season and year end. Not all managers are created equally and you are shifted around a lot so you constantly have to get used to a new managers unique quirks.

    Advice to Management

Flex-scheduling and ability to work from home will save you a lot of great workers.

    Pros

Job security Good employees; great culture Growing industry/profits Fantastic new headquarters Great work/life balance

    Cons

Increasingly bureaucratic over the years Incompetent managers in certain departments Lacking formalized, consistent cross-departmental collaboration Unwilling to invest in employees and teams at times; limited career opportunities for certain departments Compensation is below market; performance evals and bonuses differ by team or dept Operations and Clinical departments are often battling over Center activities (Ops responsible for budgets/revenue; Clinical responsible for patient care) Benefits gradually declined over the years; started excellent, but left as above average

    Advice to Management

Take a serious look at those in Director positions and above; if they haven't promoted a single employee over 7 years, there must be something wrong. I can't stress the importance of communication and collaboration. Transparency and centralized communication is a start, but the hand should know what the foot is (or will be) doing. Audit your compensation program NOW before there is a mass exodus of qualified professionals. Align the Ops and Clinical teams to a unified vision: High Quality AND (NOT OR) Low Cost Patient Care

    Pros

Great work environment; feels like a small family owned business rather than a Corporation; management focus on open communication.

    Cons

There are no negative experiences that are worth mentioning during my employment as of yet. Has been a great experience so far.

    Advice to Management

Continuing to insert a little fun every so often into our work week will has been added bonus to an already great working environment

    Pros

i can't think of any pros, not a good entry point into an accounting career.

    Cons

too much work, no job training, management oversight was a joke, even if chosen for advancement salary didn't cover what you make as a staff accountant with base and overtime.

    Advice to Management

if your strategy is to hire lots of green accountants, more training and development is needed

    Pros

Everyone is very nice and nurturing. A great introduction to the business of healthcare Great office location in Southern Nashville Great intern wage

    Cons

While I was there at times I wish there was more work. But I had an incredible experience so I cannot complain.

    Advice to Management

I hope Management continues to hire interns as it was a great experience.

    Pros

Encourage you to learn more and do more, schedule flexibility, you can schedule your work week. Free parking.

    Cons

Too many bosses. Your schedule can change and depending on cases you may have a budget day or paid time off, or day off without pay. Benefits are decreasing every year.

    Advice to Management

    Value your employees.

    Pros

Some of the best people to work with. There is very little turnover in most departments, and it is a fast-growing location. Plus there's free coffee, sodas, tea, popcorn, and a lot of lunches!

    Cons

Growing quickly, so change is stressful. There are some breakdowns in communication especially in new ventures. Also, depending on your specialty, little room for promotion.

    Advice to Management

Communicate as much as possible with the people in your department. Recognize when changes are needed.

I worked at AmSurg full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

AmSurg has a lot of wonderful people working for it. Many are experts at what they do- and are very professional.

    Cons

There is not a lot of room for advancement. Some teams (work is divided by regions) are favored more by senior management. Interal communication lacking. No employee satisfaction survey.

    Advice to Management

Develop more formal recognition program. Develop internal communications (like a newsletter) and revamp Intranet. Implement annual satisfaction survey and invest more in employees.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Plenty of PTO can be earned per pay period, each months' timetable is very cyclical as far as what can be expected (same tasks by same deadlines)

    Cons

better have outstanding soft skills with convincing individuals to corroporate, communication is horrible, turnover is horrible, not a place to make a career

    Advice to Management

It would be wise to review the amount of work given out. If people are leaving, it is generally for a reason.
