Work and challenges can be addictive, the can take a lot portion of your personal time, if you choose to.

    Pros

Had a lot of freedom to pursue the the projects I was most interested in, and to tackle them in innovative ways.

    Cons

Not a tech company -- to get the most experience you must treat any role as a product role, not tech.

    Advice to Management

Do more to recruit and keep top technical talent. Having thought leaders at Amazon will help to improve culture.

I have been working at Amazon.com full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good salary to lure you as an Ops Manager. Not much else positive to say really.....

    Cons

The culture that is described to you is one that focuses on people. This could not be further from the truth as fear mongering and bullying tactics are used regularly to threaten associates and managers. Amazon, in my experience, has not lived up to any one of their "leadership principles". Very closed minded organization.

    Advice to Management

Start treating people with respect (including your management teams).....you'd be surprised how much more you get out of people when they are happy and treated like human beings instead of garbage.

I worked at Amazon.com as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Central downtown location Able to make an impact

    Cons

The team I was on gave me a solo project for the duration of my internship and did not help me very much with it. I felt lost and alone within a big company.

    Advice to Management

Integrate interns more within the team
