    Pros

Always keep busy, whether its monthly work or ad-hoc 'fires' to put out; there's always something going on. You have the ability to do what you want and go with it rather than seeking the approval of others.

    Cons

Depending on the group could end up working a lot. Also, can be difficult getting help if needed, everyone's always busy.

    Pros

I really enjoyed their training- it was hands-on, and was created with retention in mind, using a number of different educational approaches meant to work for all learning styles. They had great support for their CSAs, including great trainers and supervisors, excellent online tools, chat programs and online tutorials.

    Cons

    Amazon's positions are seasonal.

    Advice to Management

Keep people a little longer so that they can build on what they know and become better agents.

    Pros

Fast paced, lots of innovation, room for growth if you are willing to relocate. Very good resume builder. Lots of learning and dealing with grey areas.

    Cons

expectation to work long hours, work weekends and holidays. Be prepared to work a night shift. Work 60 hours a week during holiday season.

    Advice to Management

Make more perks for salaried population. Add maybe a co-pay for education of salaried population.

    Pros

You can find ample opportunities in the company, because the company offers many exciting products use diverse technologies. On top of that, Amazon has flexible internal transfer policy that you can transfer to other teams after one year in a team.

    Cons

Amazon is not a company for everyone. If you want to learn new technologies and explore different areas, this is the company. If you want to learn how to design, test and run a service end to end, you should come.

    Advice to Management

Turn over is a big concern for the company. Management needs to go above and beyond to retain the best.

    Pros

You work with some really smart people and can learn a great deal. With the right manager and team members, you can really grow personally and professionally. The majority of the projects I worked on were cool projects that impacted literally millions of people. Compensation and benefits are decent, if you stick around long enough.

    Cons

There is a reason why on average, people only last a year. They tend to run you into the ground, not a lot of work/life balance. I, as well as many other employees felt like their stack ranking review process was detrimental to team building, as people at times turn against one another in order to make themselves look good during review time.

Management is hit and miss at best. I had a few really good managers and I had some that should never have been put into managerial positions. I saw quite a few horrible managers at Amazon. Just because someone is a good individual contributor, does not necessarily qualify them to be a good manager. A bad manager can cripple your career at Amazon. The other frustrating thing was the amount of time spent in meetings, we had meetings to discuss meetings; often they were a huge waste of time.

Salaries are ok, but a good chunk of your compensation when you start is in restricted stock units, that take four years for all of it to vest. Most people only stick around for a year so they don't have to repay their signing bonus and then quit. They don't stay long enough to ever see their RSUs fully vest, therefore Amazon doesn't have to pay out that money.

    Advice to Management

Invest in training quality managers that understand how to help and bring out the best in their employees, not just keep a score card.
