I have been working at Amazon.com

    Pros

Great company. Lots of intelligent people. Tons of opportunity to work on different products and GTM strategies.

    Cons

Slow promotions, very political hierarchy. Management is too busy to develop anyone and you find yourself taking on as many projects as possible just to get noticed.

    Pros

Like any other associate we are just one step forward. We are consider to be in the Leadership team. Work is hard but is enjoyable when you are with the right people and when people respect you as you respect them. Leadership is awesome and there is great communication between all of them.

    Cons

Associates spend to much time on the belt complaining there paycheck and amount of work. They just stand talking about nothing and want others to do their job for them. Sometimes its noisy with the Pit drivers and the sort alarm. Sometimes temperature got as high as 78 degrees which make it feel like it is 90 because of constant movement.

I have been working at Amazon.com as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

I applied online and I never had a face to face interview. It was almost a miracle. The process took 2 weeks and everything was done via email. I selected my day to come in for an interview from anonline calendar and I was able to change the date with no hassles. The interview was not an interview. We watched a short film on the company while taking a drug test at the same time. We all sat there quiet with the test in our jaw. As long as you pass the background check and drug test. There was no need to meet HR. You fill out all the paper work online and set up payroll via direct deposit the day your come in for orientation. All the HR work is done online via email I think they have invented a whole new non intimidating hiring practice that takes out the human element of who might discriminate against you visually. It was the easiest hiring practice I have ever seen that took no time at all, with little human contact.

    Cons

    breaks are too short.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some of the line leades need to be replaced.
