    Pros

Working environment is good, friendly colleagues, although it's a customer oriented bank but the senior management do protect their staff.

    Cons

Working as front-liner biggest challenge is dealing/alliance with HQ staff for help/enquiry, most of the time no one pick up your call, or keep transferring the call from one to another person.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review the increment percentage, work life balance for branch operation staff, is Sunday Banking necessary for certain branches because my observation most of the customer visit SB they are housewife who normally visit on weekday as well.

    Cons

The HR is not strong enough.

I have been working at Ambank Group full-time

    Pros

    Work-life balance
    People are nice
Sales staff are competitive, but not to the point of being unethical or cut-throat

    Cons

Projects/Ideas are carried out without proper planning and many are then left abandoned (or worse, fail)
Certain projects are executed, but leaves everyone scratching their heads wondering why it was done in the first place as it only brought more trouble, complaints and sales dropped (bad decisions)
Management can sing a different tune every day; asking/saying something and then pulling it back the next day
Not much career advancement. It is super hard to get a promotion at Ambank and the yearly increment can be as pathetic as RM15 (not joking)
How ironic that when ever anyone complains, the answer is "Ambank ma"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not rush to execute things without consulting relevant departments/people.
Listen to the ground staff as their opinions are very important. It is very telling when branches complain about bad decisions made by the management.

I have been working at Ambank Group

    Pros

Friendly culture: good senior staffs, passionate mentor

    Cons

Difficult in liaising with other units, lack of formal training by organization

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To attract talent: Bank should develop the talent programme for young graduate which is formal training. Secondly, set the expected salary. These two are the core value to attract and retain talent.

I have been working at Ambank Group full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

If you looking for family type of working environment, then this is the place for you. The people are friendly here and after 6 years here i made quite a few good friends.

    Cons

    1. No career development for existing staff. Management prefer to hire outsider than considering the internal staff. So very hard to get promote unless can you can kipas the senior manager.
    2. No work life balance. The senior management appreciate working hard and late rather than working effectively. Although you can finish your work faster, no one will value your work. Those who likes to come early to work and finish late will be rewarded. Those who can effectively manage their work faster than the slow old timer will be rewarded by giving him/her more work.
    3. Salary very low compare to industry/market rate. Most people can considerate that because they are comfortable with their friends and the other benefit like medical benefit and the fact that most staff take staff loan -which is lower than commercial interest rate. EPF contribution by empoyer is good. The bonus is average -you can expect 3 moths bonus if you can score 3 points in your KPI. During promotion maybe can get 4 and above (very rare case).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1. Open & listen to staff suggestion-reduce the power distance.
    2. Adjust the staff salary t be compatible with market price.
    3. Change the old timer at management who doesn't contribute to any value.

    Pros

It's a bank so using this company as a kick start to other jobs within the industry is preferable.

    Cons

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to implement equal opportunities and racial composition.
