I have been working at Amcor Rigid Plastics full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great pay and decent benefits.

    Cons

No work life balance and benefits are on the decline due to Obama care and the cost associated.
The director over the region is a sarcastic bully that's pushing out anyone that voices concerns about the direction of the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Retain your talented employees by listening to them instead of firing them when the voice concerns.
I worked hard for the company for over 24 years and worked my way up the ladder. I generally worked 12 to 18 hrs a day 7 days a week on salary.

It was obvious that all the older employees are being pushed out to bring in younger management.

    Pros

??? benefits are not too bad

    Cons

Micro-management at its worst! How many companies do you know of that require every employee to get overtime approval from the plant manager for ANY overtime? Well, that is how this plant is being ran. Many looking at jumping ship. (It appears to be sinking!). Work life balance sucks! Management expects to rush people out at 8 or 12 hours, depending on your shift, then wants you to be on call 24/7.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Clean house!

    Pros

Great Location, R&D center located in rural setting. Primarily good people.

    Cons

Terrible management. That really says it all, buy to be clear don't expect to be treated well or have opportunities without acquiring an overly brown nose. Also don't plan on having any free time or control of your work hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do your job, which doesn't mean maxing out your expense account while being inexplicably unavailable for 90% of the time and pushing all of your responsibilities downward.

    Pros

There are some managers with vision of the future. Folks are friendly. The company is on right direction and will certainly grow. Not over stressed, not too easy. Good place to gain experience and raise a family. Company headquarter location is good, R&D center is in a rural area.

    Cons

Not that open. A little bit constraint.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Amcor Rigid Plastics full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Nothing worth mentioning. I got to eat lunch.

    Cons

Management is terrible and hypocritical when it comes to decision making. Union representation is next to nothing. We were working 7 days a week while management is out watching ball games. Malicious atmosphere and dishonest co-workers. If you like being disciplined like a 3 year old then this place is for you.
I left because the facility is going to close later on next year.
