Pros
Compensation is fair and benefits average
Cons
with more missiles shot at you more internally than even from your clients, it's hard to make your clients successful when the arrogance of management and lack of respect for the individual is so overwhelming. Good luck to those who join.
Pros
Unless you are Israeli, not much knowledge sharing to others in the company.
Cons
-- Good pay (above average)
-- Very professional teams
-- Process focus
Pros
good place to start as a fresher.
Cons
less onsite as compared to support .
Pros
1- work environment is good
2-friendly environment among infra teams
3-nice food,free snacks,free fruits and zym too
4-lots of extra curricular activities to motivate people
Cons
1-work life balance is not good
2-mainly work on amdocs product, technology wise very less projests are there
3-sensless lots of rules and regulations..over the employess as mass task are controlled from israel ..and the managment over there ,can really take the blood out of your body
Advice to Senior Management
makes those promise which can be fullfilled, shoud take care of there employees and buttering should be controlled to achieve the real goal
Pros
Excellent Business Knowledge
Flexibility to move across different locations
Cons
Promotions are not as transparent as it should be - sometimes you would see more deserving still stuck , while the least expected ones getting thru
Advice to Senior Management
They should take good care of employees on relocation - should not leave them stranded due to visa issues.
Pros
The company has relocation opportunities. Learning opportunities in telecom business. Since Amdocs is world leader in Telecom Billing Products than it's good to have latest business knowledge. Freedom to wear informal.
Cons
Since cutting edge technical knowledge is something which is missing in Amdocs in India Center, so working in Amdocs can't land you in anywhere but Amdocs. There has been greedy managers who only thinks about themselves they take SME, SSME and GLs as a slave. They don't give recognition to employees who shows innovation, creativity, team playing and delivery qualities. They only look for who is more visible, conforming to them (actually just showing but doing nothing) and politically good candidates. The company looks like me as in Indian Democracy where there is no place for the smart and hardworking people and only politics and Political people are getting benefits. I have personally saw many instances where political candidates got the promotions and good hardworking guys were asked to leave because they wanted to get some good work and better treatment. The bad people are like a cancer cells and it's actually eating Amdocs. It;s has spread Amdocs badly and 80% of Amdocs is filled with it. Amdocs India, failed to deliver some important projects because of these recently.
Advice to Senior Management
Please give importance to Good and Hardworking people. There are guys who works hard, works late hours and come in weekends and you don't give them anything. You give promotions to people who do flattering. Please stop it. Please give the compensation to the people in proportions of their hard work to fetch the revenue. Please give at least 50% more salary to the key people so that they don't get frustrated when they compare the ratio of money vs contribution. Don't choose a good people from the prestigious institutes e.g NIT/REC etc.. and put him in Infra, Triage, Testing etc. teams. Good candidates deserve to be in scoping, designing. Please create a different team for the scoping and designing, and get the regular donkey work to be performed by avg and below avg people you can hire non engineering candidates for them. Please don't do the politics, at town hall you say we care and at the behind you say to come on weekends. Please take care of your best employees else there will be a day when a good and strong manager would have to be forced to clean you all to save Amdocs India. But what's the use of saying all that you don't have even basis IQ as you are the part of cancer affected bad cells.
Pros
Good pay package, decent benefits. Excellent, competent team - great people to work with. Awesome technology - expect to touch on all kinds of cool enterprise-level tech.
Cons
Hours can be inane (70-90 hour weeks in worst times!), promotion opportunities can be limited. Although pay is quite good, when averaged on a per hour basis, no longer impressive.
Advice to Senior Management
Manage your team's overtime and workload - your staff has a great deal of respect for you, but at some point it becomes a bit difficult to have a life outside the office.
Pros
--Good Compensation for Freshers
--Meals provided at Rs. 20 only. If one wishes to have dinner also, then Rs. 70/- extra.
--Flexible Timings and work from home facilties.
--To and fro transport at Rs. 900/month.
--Onsite opportunities is high but one will be going for just a month since permanent relocation requires an eligibilty of 3 years which is also difficult to get.
Cons
--No training provided so Freshers are totally left on their subordinates and Group-Leaders for help. And thus this is definitely going to affect in the long run.
--Career advancement in terms of technical skills can only be seen in PBG team,Delivery team and few others but for the rest (~95% of Amdocs), its just a work of support on business logic, so a total loss of technical skills.
--There are even some teams(MAF team and few others) where technical expertise involves simply firing SQL queries and engineers from NIT's are working in those teams--Such a waste of talent.
--After an employee has completed 2 years of service, the managers themselves start overlooking such employees since they dont pocess much of technical knowledge and hence cant apply outside so no question in terms of salary growth which only possible if you happen to quit.
Advice to Senior Management
Its not gonna help anyways.....
Pros
1.Flexible work timing (also can be a downside since it may mean you need to be online 24 hrs.)
2.Company conveyance facilities provided.
3.Salary credited on time always.
4.Some onsite opportunities available to the chosen ones.
Cons
1.Very mismanaged delivery unit. Especially APAC region projects.
2.They may think you're donkeys to work all the time.
3.No work life balance most of the time.
4.In some cases burn out is possible and people can get mad
Advice to Senior Management
1.Please clean your middle management. They ought to be very well qualified to manage not just years of experience.
2.Work life balance ought to be maintained by the management and encouraged.
3.Reduce dependency in between applications. Since due to this there is only wastage/ downtime / waiting time. and actual work and efficiency may get reduced.
4.Reduce fireworks and fire fighting mode all the time. Please do proper planning (very important) and implement it.
5.Being customer centric is good, however making it a habit of customer to frequently change the requirements even very close to deadlines is a matter of concern.
