    Pros

IN Amdocs you will be involved in the most complicated and highest priority projects that will add a lot of value to your experience and resume. Amdocs solutions are usually the core of its customers business (billing, ordering, etc) therefore the projects involve key roles from both sides (Amdocs and the customer) and expose you to a lot information about the business and IT that you would never be exposed to in smaller lower priority projects.

    Cons

It takes time to get use to the Amdocs environment and the different organizations and decision makers as well as company characteristics in order to feel comfortable. I beleive it takes 3-6 months until new comers feel connected and comfortable who is who and how to move things forward.

    Cons

Limited pay rise. management always trying to get more out of employees.

    Advice to Management

Reward hard working employees. Spend more in training and focus more on greater collaboration among groups.

    Pros

Large well known company. Lots of company training opportunities. The health benefits are stellar. Company is profitable and stable.

    Cons

People have drastically different views of what it is like to work at Amdocs, all depending on the group and manager you are hired under. As a potentially employee I suggest that you vet out your hiring manager, as your manager will make the difference.

    Advice to Management

Do more to promote from within. With 17,000+ employees you should be able to find internal employees that can be groomed for senior roles.

    Pros

Trying to say something definitive about such a huge company is similar to an attempt to say something about the whole automobile industry based on your own car. If you got lucky you have a great car, if less lucky you will struggle with repairs all your life.
Similar here, people who reach into the core development projects might get a chance to work on the latest technologies and implement critical mission systems. However, if you are less lucky, even if you've got a good IT background they might assign you a position to implement a bunch of business rules for a particular customer, which will end up in writing a bunch of if-else-get substring-close file statements, and you can do this for years.
It also depends on the team and manager - people are different, so are the managers. Some will make your life better, and some will transform it into a nightmare.
The key is to understand what is for you and what is not, and act accordingly.
It is not a pure IT company. One who wants to succeed must possess border skills like attention to details, ability to talk to the customers and understand their needs, be proactive. People who are IT-only inclined will not find this company satisfactory enough, because the chance of getting into the core development is small. But those who are perfectionists, like to make the job done till the end whatever it will be, and also possess good IT skills will be those who will find themselves like fish in the water.

    Cons

Travel in economy class even during the long hours flights.
Very long time to wait for a promotion.

    Advice to Management

Create more opportunities to work in core development (though this will also create new opportunities for customization-work for other people, so it will always be catch-22 situation).
