I worked at Amdocs as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Very active and challenging environment. Enjoyed working with very skilled offshore people.
Their applications and infrastructure is very tight and different from other business environments. Staff is very helpful in assisting you to achieve your goal.

    Cons

The offshore communication gap and long hours. The long hours to achieve the deployment date as advertised to the customer. Environment is very lean in that one resource can be assigned to many customers as a production support and/or developing a new environment for new customers on a Global level. Lack of a backup resource to assist with issues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Expand the staff levels in order that the developers do not burn out

I worked at Amdocs full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Amdocs is a big product company. So if you are at right location you
    - may get good technical work to work on
    - market competitive salary
    - depending on project/location - work culture varies. Generally good.
    - domain knowledge is valuable if you get to work on full portfolio for telecom solutions

    Cons

    - bad work culture if you are on a production support site
    - may not get much technical knowledge
    - company will try to extract most out of you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work-life balance is most important aspect

I worked at Amdocs full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Free parking, spacious cubes, excellent work personal life balance (often overtime is compensated by additional days off)

    Cons

Regardless of how well you perform, raises are nonexistent (even for cost of living). Promotions rarely exist and usually only after one threatens to quit. Organization is quite disorganized and doesn't work well as a team. Not the ideal workplace for top talent

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in talent (promotions and pay increases). Ensure all teams are working to the same goal. Remove the hierarchy issues
