    Pros

    Enjoyed Flexibility of Job. Loved doing home health work. Great job if you have small children. Loved co workers, (field staff).

    Cons

    Field Staff is not well taken care of. Focus appears to be on middle management and marketers. All marketers and office staff receive bonuses when numbers are met, while field staff receives nothing extra. At end of month nurses will be asked to do multiple admissions so care center can meet numbers. Health Insurance is a JOKE.

    I have been working at Amedisys (More than a year)

    Pros

    I really enjoy the work and the staff is excellent to work with.

    Cons

    As a social worker, there are never enough visits to cover the salary you are offered when you are offered employment.

    paper work is extensive and sometimes the patient caseload can get overwhelming

    take care of your people and try not to give in to corporate stress of the bottom line

    Pros

    Good company to work for. Just like any other it can have its flaws but that's everywhere.

    Cons

    A lot of changes in leadership therefore changes in care centers. Some are good others not so much.

    Pros

    There are a lot of pros that are overlooked because a past (and recent) negatives, but this is truely a company centered on patient care. It's not afraid to make major changes in upper management in order to keep the focus on providing the best care for it's patients and to keep up with the ever-evolving medical field. We are entering the light at the end of the tunnel and are looking at brighter days to come!

    Cons

    Things are quite disorganized and communication all but comes to a halt when passing thru middle-management (either from the top down or from the bottom up).

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing your best and as the company's future makes clear it's demands to reach success, be open to reorganizing your priorities to ensure efficent productivity.

    Good benefits, decent pay and work life balance

    Cons

    Most employees that have been there for years are over worked & lack enthusiasm. Director, as well as management focus on being "friendly" with workers who spend way too much time conversing then complain there wasn't enough time to complete tasks. Get a phone operator who can file!!!!!

    Advice to Management

    Pros

    Good benefits if you are healthy. Decent pay.

    Cons

    It is all about money and numbers. There is no work-life balance at Amedisys. They expect all work.

    Advice to Management

    Don't keep pushing productivity numbers up. Allow clinicians to have a work-life balance.

    Lack of personal integrity and professionalism.

    Cons

    Talent Acquisition Manager scheduled a telephone interview with me but never called.

    Advice to Management

    The people who work for your are the face of the company. Have some integrity and pick up the phone and cancel interview if not longer looking to fill position. Highly unprofessional to miss appointments and not even bother to follow-up.

    I worked at Amedisys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Biweekly pay check. Lifelong friendships made with my co-workers.

    Cons

    Middle management is too heavy. Get rid of some of these worthless positions and give the real workers (ones on the road...Nursing staff and therapy) some raises. Don't allow directors to withhold supplies and services from patients so they get a larger bonus. Greed and laziness are prevalent in the office staff. The nurses and therapists are dedicated to the patients' care, but management always finds something negative to say. No positive reinforcement at all. Can't believe anything management says. They preach family, family, family, but when it comes down to it, they don't care anymore about your family life than they do about a stranger's rock garden. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time with this place!

    Advice to Management

    Watch your middle management. They are chasing your best employees out with their greed, negativity, and lies!
