Pros
One of the best reasons to work for Amentra is the constantly evolving work. During my time there I got to use over 4 languages and got priceless Enterprise Application design experience. There is always a new project, with different technologies.
Cons
Not all offices are created equal. If you are willing to travel you will get to work on exciting projects. If you are not willing to travel then you have the chance to get put on some boring projects. Projects also very by location, so some cities like D.C. have really exciting projects, but towns like Richmond are not so much fun.
Advice to Senior Management
Need to create a consistent office environment. The company is growing fast, and they need to make sure operationally they are growing faster.
Pros
Young, growing company with very intelligent employees. Everyone is able to determine their own career path and there is much room for growth.
Cons
Travel can be tough at times.
Pros
Flexible career opportunities allow for greater range of subject matter and ownership for individuals. Entrepreneur mentality of most team members allows for an exciting and fast paced environment and dynamic.
Cons
Depending on who you are and how you view it, travel may be seen as a con.
Advice to Senior Management
Overall better communication and updates for how company is performing on a quarterly basis and how team members can become more involved.
Pros
Young company with people who are extremely technically capable. There is never any threat of being let go when you are on the bench. Decent internal communications with other consultants within the company. Profit Sharing.
Cons
Hours can be very long. For as much as they talk about work life balance, there really isn't any. Bonuses are not as good as they say they want you to believe.
Advice to Senior Management
Management should put more energy into figuring out how to support growth of the employees. Help employees feel like they can talk to management. There is a stated open door policy, but people don't feel like thier concerns are taken seriously.
