Pros
Good flexibilty and diversity in job.
Cons
limited to growth, dead end position unless willing to relocate to corporate.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the people in the hotels and stop thinking you know everything.
Pros
It is a good company to work for and if you like to travel you can get discounted hotel rooms where ever they are located. Nice, small hotel chain.
Cons
Not much room to grow
Advice to Senior Management
I enjoyed all the managers that I worked with
Pros
Management cares about you not just as an employee but as an individual. Very welcoming/warm environment to work in. Management is great at working with you to schedule days that you need off and listening to or answering any of your questions/concerns. The hotel is very family oriented and clean. You get discounts on rooms not just for yourself but for family as well.
Cons
Working night shifts you don't see what goes on during the day or get to know any of the housekeeping staff.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep doing what you're doing, it's working.
Pros
Because The AmericInn is a franchise company, all properties are independently owned and operated. Due to this, experiences from property to property vary. The property I work at happens to have a very family friendly atmosphere. All of my co-workers and managers are very friendly, warm, great individuals. The management staff has created a very family-like atmosphere. Not only are my co-workers and managers my colleagues but they're also my friends. What makes the AmericInn stand out from other hotels I've worked at, is the quality of the buildings they put up. One major problem with most hotels is thin walls, however The AmericInn builds their hotels with cinder blocks with concrete poured into the holes, creating a nearly sound proof room.
Cons
My main gripe with the company over all, would have to do with career advancement within the company. I've never heard of any openings at the main office or at new properties. One would think the main offices would want to have people who have actually worked in their hotels working at their home office. At my specific property, we have no health benefits, again I'm not exactly sure if that's something the home offices could possibly offer to owners who could turn around and offer it to their employees. Generally, for me, there are very few downsides for working for AmericInn.
Advice to Senior Management
I really cannot comment on the senior management of the overall company. However, the management at my property is outstanding. They are very knowledgeable and supportive people.
