It was a job with no possibility of growth.

Mortgage Operations (Former Employee) Roy, UT

ProsGreat potlucks. Great relationships with lateral employees. Well established, profitable organization. The hours were good. Some overtime allowed. Professional environment and dress code.

ConsLow pay - rarely giving raises to anyone, and has lost many employees due to that fact. Management cares little for their employees. Shuffles employees around quite a bit. Clickish, local organization.

Advice to Senior ManagementWhen employees are down on their luck, don't penalize them for it. Evaluate company policies. Do not smile in the faces of employees, then behave negatively behind their backs. Be fair with staff members.

    Biggest mistake of my life

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Birmingham, AL

ProsThey have a competitive benefit package

ConsEveryone is very cliquish and will make new employees feel like a square peg. My manager was the absolute worst. A huge micromanager and control freak who had the delusion that all of their subordinates should be constantly busy every single minute of the workday. Manager also had unrealistic expectations and would talk down to subordinates for not meeting them.

Advice to Senior ManagementStep into the real world for a change. Stop sweating small stuff.

Great place to start a career but not a long-term option.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThey have a great work/life balance. Management seems to care about their employees well-being. Their health insurance has reasonable premiums and coverages. The 401k match is above-average. Vacation time is generous.

ConsThe career path is very limited. Compensation seems to be below market averages. Computer systems frequently crash and are embarrassing. Management has been consistently turning to outside hires for more senior roles over the last 2-3 years.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    I was used

    Teller (Current Employee) Birmingham, AL

ProsThe benefits are great. You get medical, dental and vision coverage at a great price. You also get 401k matches up to 5%.

ConsThere is not a lot of room for advancement and no blueprint towards getting where you want to go. You are expected to perform above average while receiving below average pay.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe consistent and get rid of the politics. Appreciate an employee based off the facts and not personal opinions. Pay better...

    It is okay

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Birmingham, AL

ProsManagement is fair. Educational program to complete a BS degree with tuition payed by company. Stable and not cutting jobs. Annual bonus if company wide goals are met.

ConsThere are limited avenues for advancement since the company is pretty small. Tellers do seem to be given preferance. Pay is low, banks are not known for being big paying companies, but this is a credit union so expect to make 20% less then a similar sized bank.

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate inventive programs for all departments, not just the frontline people. It really seems that they are the only ones who are considered when it comes to any programs or giveaways.
