    ProsTravel...time off...flexible schedule which comes with seniority

    ConsYou see a high salary...but in fact full time flying is only 20 hours a week or about 80 hours a month....

    Taking off . . . keep the momentum.

    ProsThe flight benefits and the people you work with are solid. The company seems to be moving in the right direction. Mergers are tricky and can get messy fast, but so far so good.

    ConsOn boarding is non-existent, at least in my case. Others have been more fortunate. Depends on your manager. Access to HR is via chat/phone, no personal touch. Same for just about everything; benefits, retirement, etc.

    Advice to Senior ManagementThings are looking up with the merger, but a lot to be seen yet. Stay open and direct with communication and keep employees interests at heart.

    ProsAmerican is a place where people can achieve their full potential!

    ConsLongs hours, weekends, holidays and sometimes be away from our families! Also pay is not that great.

    Advice to Senior ManagementUpper management need support their employees on a positive way and sometimes we like to be recognize for a good customer service.

    ProsFlight benefits, if you can afford to travel. Health/401k

    ConsManagement is more concerned with the appearance of doing a good job than actually implementing innovative strategies for productivity. As a scheduler you're no more than a body in a seat. You can advance if you're willing to gossip with the department manager about coworkers.

    Advice to Senior Managementprovide managers with training in how to effectively communicate with workers with out screaming and belittling them. Maybe consider education level when hiring for department management.

    ProsAbility to travel and see the world. Flexible schedule. Good Benefits, including 401K, paid vacation, and healthcare. Profit sharing opportunities.

    Consstarting pay is low. must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays, without overtime or holiday pay. must pay union dues to be employed. seniority based bidding for work schedule.
