Current Employee – been working at American Airlines full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – The time off is good. I like that I usually do not bring home my job and live a stress free life away from the workplace.
Cons – Very hostile environment between labor and management. Severe pay and benefit cuts while upper management get bonuses.
Advice to Senior Management – Leave!
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at American Airlines
Pros – The ONLY reason to stay, is that this is a seniority based career (Pilot). If you join another company, you lose all seniority, and literally start at the very bottom. Even with that, there are a growing number of AA pilots leaving for other opportunities, something absolutely unthinkable in the past...
Cons – Toxic management practices. Complete disrespect for employees. Management taking millions of dollars in 'performance" bonuses, while the company is losing money, the stock is falling, and the line employees are enduring massive paycuts. I'm making less than I was as a copilot fifteen years ago. Management thinks drastically cutting maintenance & training costs are a good thing to do. Do you?
Advice to Senior Management – Treat your employees as you would like to be treated...
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
