Pros – Good growth and great experience while in school

Cons – Not worth trying to move into management

I have been working at American Campus Communities as a contractor for more than a year

Pros – Compensation to community assistants is that rent is paid for, through your hours worked.

Cons – Unusual work environment. There is a strong management disconnect with the employees that are below them. No respect for employees well-being. Managers are not held accountable for the actions they take, or do not take. The amount of work outweighs the rent getting paid for by far. There is so much more. Do not work here.

Advice to Senior Management – Be fair to employees under them. Communication. Honesty. Follow through. Do your job and give community assistants credit for all the stuff they have to do.

I have been working at American Campus Communities part-time for less than a year

Pros – They only pay for rent.

Cons – The management favored the senior CA's. They did not care much for our well being when it came to working, homework and class. They paid us in rent to live there and I was literally told by the Regional manager that if I needed money for food I should take out loans. They would not offer extra hours. That was rare. They management hardly got their hands dirty with any of the work we had to do ourselves. They made us clean up bio-hazards: blood and vomit without proper training. They would hardly ever answer the on call phone.

Advice to Senior Management – Refer to Cons section. Hire better management that actually treat their employees like human beings. That actually treat their employees with equality and offer a sense of truly being genuine. Don't forget that you hire students and school/homework is a MAIN priority in a students life.

Pros – Excellent young employees. Great workplace. Housing is usually included.

Cons – No growth outside of higher education

Cons – Upper management is pretty bad but what can you do.

Cons – nothing really bad except for graveyard shifts but that was what i signed up for
