Pros
Fast pace, and always changing, never one day will you encounter the same thing twice
Cons
Can be time consuming and people who you must manage can be unruly.
Advice to Senior Management
Be willing to handle situations that would make other people run away from in fear.
Pros
A few perks here and there, but the pay is extremely lacking compared to responsibilities
Cons
required to work long and tons of extra hours without pay
Advice to Senior Management
promote people based on merit and not how long they have been with the company
Pros
Nice people and nice management. It pays your rent which is nice. Good experience
Cons
Although pays your rent, it is 20 hours a week which makes it out to be minimum wage. Can be stressful at times.
Advice to Senior Management
Answer all emails from residents and prospective residents
Pros
Flexible work hours
Great staff within properties
Cons
Work/life balance is non-existent if your property is not at company standards
Poor pay
Unrealistic initiatives and goals
Advice to Senior Management
Show a little more compassion for your employees
Pros
Flexibility for me is a big deal, I can finish with classes and just hop off the bus and punch in for work.
Cons
Company is too top heavy, not enough money at the grass roots of the organization. As a result, upper management tries to push a car, when it would be much cheaper to invest more into it's lower level employees so the company could drive itself more.
Advice to Senior Management
Do away with "Student Staff" requirements. Turnover is crippling, in my last year and a half I have worked with 15 different CAs.
Pros
great leadership opportunities, good ways for advancement, management very knowledgeable and helpful when asking questions, guidance given every step of the way
Cons
if you are a community student you must live on the property and participate in an on-call phone for emergencies
Advice to Senior Management
Allow for students to continue working when graduation approaches or when they would like to live off site. Also increase pay.
Pros
tons of opportunites throughout the nation with this company and also within the corporate office itself. A very laid back corporate work environment. A good mix of a relaxed environment and people getting stuff done.
Cons
Lots of people, easy to get lost in the shuffle. But make your mark and you'll be remembered!
Advice to Senior Management
Upper managment knows what they are doing and run a great team.
Pros
Direct interaction with residents.
Leadership skills gained.
Helps time management skills.
Very flexible with your work schedule.
Oppurtunity to move up within the company.
Also great letters of reccomendation especially if you do your job well and show passion for your job.
Cons
Honestly if you do not like interaction with people this job is not for you. You must be willing to understand that people have bad days when their frustrated and you have to be patient and understanding.
Pros
~great camaraderie with coworkers
~helpful managers
~fun events held throughout the property
~good overtime pay
Cons
~no increase in salary
~no real job advancement
Pros
great place, everyone is friendly and loves to help eachother out, it is definitly like a family seetting.
Cons
Be prepared to step up big time, after a while, they will want you to start taking on more responsiblity without even asking you. they will just give it to you.
