Former Employee – worked at American Eagle Airlines full-time for less than a year
Pros – Flying all over the states but never being too far from home.
Cons – The downside of a smaller airline is the number of legs a flt. attendant can fly per day... sometimes up to 7!

Current Employee – been working at American Eagle Airlines full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Get to fly planes and travel.
Cons – Always away from family, they force you to work on your days off, crappy pay, almost all the captains you fly with initially are old, crusty, and horrible to fly with.

Former Employee – worked at American Eagle Airlines full-time
Pros – Flight benefits, hilarious co-workers, plenty of aviation knowledge to gain even as a front-line operations employee. Somewhat flexible schedules and able to pick up overtime/extra hours.
Cons – Low pay, low morale, no union protection for those who need it most, invisible, absentee supervisors.
Advice to Senior Management – Invest in your people, who will then take care of your equipment and will run your company much better!

Former Employee – worked at American Eagle Airlines full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Non-stop flights (I worked at DFW), lots of hours available, easygoing atmosphere, for the most part hardworking and intelligent employees.
Cons – AA pass benefits are horrible (2 years before you are allowed to use buddy passes and your parents come out of your buddy pass bank - which is insane) and your non-rev travel is not free (business class to EZE and back ran me about $280!), low pay, the WORST health insurance (extremely expensive - $100 a month for me and I am a healthy, in shape non-smoker)
Advice to Senior Management – AA Eagle needs to start contributing to the employees' health insurance so that it's not so outrageously expensive.

Former Employee – worked at American Eagle Airlines
Pros – When crew scheduling isn't messing around with your schedule, its a fun job.
Cons – You are seen as a part number, not a member of a team of professionals.

Current Employee – been working at American Eagle Airlines
Pros – The staff of mechanics are always eager to help you with any aircraft issue and help you understand the functions of all the systems. The maintenance operation isn't too large at most line stations so management is more involved with each individual and the day to day operation. When work demand is high, the mechanics work well as a group and in timely manner. Many aircraft parts are usually available and in stock and company supplied tools for aircraft servicing are easily accessible and ready to use.
Cons – The load of work is unevenly distributed and the manpower is unevenly staffed for each shift. Finding people to cover for low manpower is difficult because of company work time policies. Some facilities, such as hangars and parts storage, are disorganized and not maintained very well. There aren't enough work vehicles at the airport for transport of equipment and mechanics to and from the planes.
Advice to Senior Management – Let the mechanics first analyze the situation and troubleshoot the plane before rushing them and letting management decide the final verdict because it's the mechanic's name that releases the aircraft.

Pros – The ability to travel at any given time is awesome. Co-workers are working together towards a common goal and each team member all have the initiative to make a difference and improve the operation.
Cons – No regular salary increase each year. Travel benefits are limited to immediate family.
Advice to Senior Management – None.
