Pros
Stable, and making some new operational changes that will be very beneficial for customers and ramp employee.
Cons
Little to no movement, limited on growth because of contractual agreements with parent company, industry has poor current prospects.
Advice to Senior Management
Grow.

Cons
When on reserve they can keep extending u..not cool
Advice to Senior Management
listen to employees
Pros
Stable employment- no upward or downward movement
As far as regional airlines go, it could be worse.
Cons
Eagle is a shell company owned by AMR to provide an industry average regional feed service for American Airlines. As with the other positions in the company, management does not value experience and would prefer to have all pilots work 2-4yrs then quit in order to keep costs low. True appreciation and thanks are never shown (or assumed). "The beatings will continue until morale improves" sums up the organization. Travel benefits are meaningless when you spend 20 days a month in the airport already, and the planes are full (meaning you wont be able to get anywhere).
Advice to Senior Management
Our managers at Eagle are not Eagle employees, they are affiliated with AA/AMR and do not act in our interest. Show real appreciation. Shake the hand of a fellow co-worker, look them in the eye and say "Thank you." Literally go through a day in the shoes of a front line employee to see how to fix a problem instead of commissioning focus groups to find out why things arent working. Someone sitting in an office in DFW can't understand why operations in JFK are imploding. The airline industry is broken and the talented individuals, at all levels, leave the industry for greener pastures. Nobody is vested in the company, or doing the best job they can. Mediocrity at its finest.
Pros
Discounted flights - but they are not free
Cons
Fly standby only, although you have to pay, may wait all day and not get a flight. Schedules change every couple of months, you bid for a time slot, no idea what task you will get. Management doesn't try to communicate with you. Favoritism is rife, but favorites change often, work as hard as you can and still get no appreciation.
Advice to Senior Management
Actually listen to people, commission independent separation interviews when people leave, especially when you have 60 - 70% losses annually. Make an employee handbook available..
Pros
Everyone is treated the same way. Mostly fairly. I've noticed that lately the entire staff is more polite, friendlier and seem to be happier, and those that weren't in the past - well I don't know where they are now because I haven't heard their voice over the phone lately. Interesting...
Cons
I'm not sure because I haven't seen the comparisons yet, but I hear-tell that we're the lowest paid Flight attendants.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay American Eagle Flight Attendants more because we save lives - we're not just another FAA requirement to have on board the flight. We also are sincere in serving our Passengers and they LOVE us. American Eagle Flight Attendants make a difference not just for the company but for the Passengers as well.
Pros
American Eagle is one of the Few Airlines that is still hiring at this time while most other airlines are Furloughing
Employees. American Eagle seems to continue to Grow .
Cons
You can put in very long hours during your time on duty with Maintence and weather delays which then turn into
minimum rest overnights. The scheduled minimum res is 8hours but that is not behind the door of hotel. That
is based on when you open the door and the brake is set. This can lead to actually only getting about 5 to 6 hours
of actual sleep.

Advice to Senior Management
we need better rest periods
Pros
Travel benefits - working with the public - would like to see our benefits combined with those of AA employees, I think we might get more for our money that way - sometimes it's hard to beleive that we work for the same company. Will be interesting to see what happens if and when the economy turns around and airline travel picks back up. I think that all the price hikes have helped some, but need to find a way to offer a little more to the people then what we do. Wish we could fit TVs on our planes - give the public a little entertainment.
Cons
long days - short nights. Sometimes reduced rest is not a good thing. Our flights are getting longer and it's hard to keep the pasengers happy when they are on a small plane. There must be something we can offer them to make their flights a little more enjoyable - just don't know what that wold be. Glad we don't charge for sodas, and that we give extra perks to our frequent fliers, but sometimes it makes the other passengers feel a bit left out. Not sure how our routes are selected but certain destinations have been taken away when we always seemed to be able to fill the planes.
Advice to Senior Management
build better schedules, find a way around the customer is always right problem. We need to work on the guilty until proven innocent type of management style. While I know that our inflight supervisors are over worked, we need to try to focus on the good. I also understand that it only takes one employee to ruin it for the rest of us, but punishing everybody for the actions of a few never seems to work.
Pros
Flight benefits, and nice people to work with. Great training. Work has time for breaks in between flights which allow for a little rest. Job can be strenuous at times, but being outdoors most of the time is a real plus for me. There is a lot to learn and a lot of on going lessons to do, but you have good technology provided to complete this training.
AA's training in Ft. Worth is outstanding, and you should take advantage of as much of it as is possible. Shifts change often, and they work with you to get the best schedule for each person.
Cons
Very fast pace on occasion, and a crazy customer once every few months.
Advice to Senior Management
Give more positive feedback to local employees.
Pros
there is a lot of travel. a few benifits such as free travel, some discounts at resorts
Cons
work on holidays birthdays, school functions, game days, aniversary, family reunions. airline business is like riding a roller coaster....lots of ups and downs in the industry. it can be very stressful.
Advice to Senior Management
quit giving out the canned harvard business school answer for everything.
Pros
The best reasons to work for American Eagle is that you do get some wonderful flight benefits. You can use the benefits to fly anywhere American Eagle or American Airlines flies and that's just about anywhere in the world. I have to admit, if I hadn't been a flight attendant, there is a lot I would not have seen so far.
Cons
Flight attendants sometimes have to work really long days...especially when the weather is bad. I've had some days that were so long we were almost grounded for going over our max number of hours allowed to work by the FAA. The really short overnights are a bummer and most of them are anymore. There isn't always enough time to check out the cities you're overnighting in. And really early kick-off flights suck!
Advice to Senior Management
Stop driving your people into the ground and get them off of Reserve before they all abandon ship!
