    Pros

I don't have one good thing to say about this company

    Cons

Unorganized, office space cluttered and cramped. Management has no respect for their loan officers. Unless your're a top producer you're considered a liar with something to hide.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is unqualified for their positions.

    Pros

Real people who treat their employees well. Leadership is very involved in the every day functions of the company and is always concerned about the culture of the company and it's employees. Great co-workers. Great encouragement and a positive attitude over all.

    Cons

Growing is always a challenge, so some processes were a little rough. However, they did their best to make sure everyone was taken care of who had to deal with the issues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great job! Keep up the good work!

I worked at American Financial Network full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

HR and payroll department is respectable

    Cons

UW supervisor wanted hands on training. I went from East coast to West coast for training which was not properly set up No formal training program with time alloted to training. Constant interruptions with trainer answering email, etc. The copany is expanding on the East Coast hiring several branches and underwriters and given inadequate training or time to get acclimated. UW's were expected to complete several fields in mortgage system that should be done in processing taking away valuable time and focus needed on underwriting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

SLow down the growth of the company until you are equipped to handle it. Stop over hiring so you can pick and choose who to weed out.

    Pros

Compensation is above market, great culture and corporate support. Growing company with plenty of opportunity for long-term growth.

    Cons

The company is growing fast and with that comes some growing pains. Management aren't always the most qualified. Things take longer to get done then they should because everything has go through certain channels which cause many bottlenecks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Grow smart rather than growing fast.

    Pros

Everyone is friendly and helpful. This is a team environment. Professionals who know a great deal about the business, and have the experience to execute well. AFN is an organization that has few levels of intervening management between staff. Well-trained employees are more productive when they are more directly involved in the decision making process, rather than closely supervised by many layers of management.

    Cons

AFN may have too few levels of intervening management between staff. Senior managers are sometimes difficult to track-down for answers to business decisions that need to be made under consultation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is not hard to spot people who are handling too great a load.
