I have been working at American Golf full-time for more than a year
Pros – It's stable and backed by capital partners. Standard medical and paid time off.
Cons – They're always cutting corners. Salaried employees are required to take furloughs, there is no matching on 401k, and overall there is a lack of organization and poor communication. Very few opportunities for upward mobility and they don't really care about your future goals.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't cut corners all the time and waste money.

I worked at American Golf part-time for more than a year
Pros – Learning experience in golf management and service of golf course, between pro shops and maintenance areas were very well managed.
Cons – I think when it comes to getting the correct people for the positions needed to run a golf course they have to do better
Advice to Senior Management – I think that you should think some more on the pricing structures that you have in place for your courses as in this economy lower green fees and memberships would be more profitable in long run than over charging and having less play with less profit

I worked at American Golf full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – half price meals, closed Christmas
Cons – mandatory 2 week furlough, poor salary, always feeling threatened that you are going to loose your job. unachievable plans.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop back stabbing your employees. They are your greatest resource but you are too stupid to realize it!
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at American Golf
Pros – Can play at any other American Golf course in the network across the country for what the employee rate would be. Able to play several good courses for a cheap price! Hours were flexible and easily able to take time off when I needed to juggle multiple jobs.
Cons – Limited growth clearly with these courses because it only needs a GM and AGM. After that, food/beverage isn't even necessary. Only other manager is the part-time events person. Pretty simple place to work and make good spending money when in college. Nothing else after that.
Advice to Senior Management – Offer some sort of incentive program for employees that actually do go the extra distance. Many young adults may slack off, but several enjoy exceeding goals and want to be rewarded for this.

I worked at American Golf
Pros – Worked at a Country Club that was part of American Golf. They did a good job training you but refused to pay anyone anything over minimum wage even though members continued to tell management how great of an employee I was. The amount of work is not too difficult.
Cons – They should have fired some people that were extremely incompetent but did not because they didn't want to have to find replacements. Let too many people slack off.
Advice to Senior Management – Get rid of the slackers. In this economy, more young hard-working kids are looking for a job to help their families out.

I have been working at American Golf
Pros – Friendly co-workers, management works with employees to create a mutual and friendly work environment. Discounts on merchandise and other American Golf affiliated courses.
Cons – Hours can be long. There is not much room for advancement in the company. Management may be drawn from outside of the state.
Advice to Senior Management – Bobby Jones Golf Course is a great place to start a career in the public golf course industry. Great work environment!

I have been working at American Golf
Pros – Is is a very fun place to work. It is not stressful and you can golf whenever you want. The people are nice too.
Cons – It does not pay very well. There are a lot of old people. The drive from san diego is kind of far.
Advice to Senior Management – Pay more but i guess that that is up to corporate. I like the job and management is nice also.
