I worked at American Greetings part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible job schedule and your able to work at your pace without someone hovering over you.

    Cons

Some customer store chains managers made it difficult to work with. Instead of talking to your supervisor they tried discussing things that were out of my reach.

Good people, great city, gather a lot of the creative population in one place. Solid benefits, fairly normal hours, but varies by department.

    Cons

Unless you move around interdepartmentally, it's very hard to move up in the company.

I have been working at American Greetings full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is a lot of talent within the company and the corporate events are fun and engaging. New headquarters are set to open in summer 2016 which will bring new life to the company culture. Flexible work schedule within reason and lots of encouragement from management for internal movement.

    Cons

Lack of appropriate training and quite disorderly at times. Some managers are much more rigid than others, as in any working environment, which can make or break your employment experience. Several areas of the company receive fringe benefits that are not available to other employees.

    Advice to Management

Recognize hard work on an individual basis, do more to show appreciation, and follow through with your promises.

I worked at American Greetings part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The work is not hard, but it is very tedious. Hours vary from 15 hours a week to 2 hours a week depending on season. It is great for some extra cash and they increase pay for education and experience. The manager I worked with was very attentive and helpful and understanding. The training was appropriate and all done online or hands-on with a manager.

    Cons

Low pay, varying weekly hours. Slow to ship product. Hours allocated to your project can be too little to get the job done.

    Advice to Management

I get tired of these less than 10 hour a week jobs. They should hire full-time for an area like Greenville, NC so one can make a career out of it and have the opportunity to move up.

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

American Greetings was an experience, because it taught me how to answer emails, efficiently and effectively, and give trouble shooting tips.

    Cons

Everything that I've done at American Greeting was an experience, and when they gave constructive criticism, I learned from it.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for giving me the chance to work with the company, and for the company, it was an interesting job to learn from.
