    Pros

American Greetings was an experience, because it taught me how to answer emails, efficiently and effectively, and give trouble shooting tips.

    Cons

Everything that I've done at American Greeting was an experience, and when they gave constructive criticism, I learned from it.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for giving me the chance to work with the company, and for the company, it was an interesting job to learn from.

    Pros

-Flexible hrs., it's a paycheck! Work on your own time. Limited supervision, Great for self starters.

    Cons

-lots of work, little pay, working before and after major holidays. A few hrs scheduled per week. This is more of a part, part time job. No advancement!

    Advice to Management

Managers need to get out more. Work in the field a few times a month to have a thorough understanding of the struggles in the field.

I have been working at American Greetings full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Variety of projects, trusting atmosphere between managers / coworkers, creative environment

    Cons

Because of the size of the company, it seems that the culture is a little slower paced than other creative workplaces.

    Pros

Work on your own. You pick the day you will work, within the time frame given. That is all I can think of as a pro.

    Cons

Low pay, low hours, and store management can really cause hassles. I see they are hiring for the position I had last year, at a lower pay rate. That's really not worth it. Lots of waste. Lots to do in not enougb scheduled time. Very low travel pay.

    Advice to Management

Pay better and give more time to complete tasks.

I worked at American Greetings part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

American Greetings was great because it offered flexible hours that fit around my schedule. The stores were easy to get to and the jobs were simple enough to understand.

    Cons

The worst part was having to work every holiday. Since there are greeting cards for every holiday it was crucial that the displays be taken down by certain times which made it difficult to plan around special family holidays.

    Advice to Management

Build better relationships with your stores. Sometimes store managers weren't very helpful for the merchandisers who worked in their stores and if made it difficult to complete the job.

I worked at American Greetings part-time

    Pros

Flexible Schedule/Hours, Independent Work, Close Locations

    Cons

Micro-managing supervisors, no lunch break/they get frustrated when you take any breaks, a lot of work with little scheduled time to complete activities well, no abilities for promotion

    Advice to Management

Pick supervisors with better people skills who do not hide behind aisles to spy on their employees or threaten their job status every two months!

    Pros

Flexible schedules, ability to make your own schedule. Low supervision and ability to work on your own.

    Cons

You are working on your own so if there are issues you have to call either the call center or your boss to explain if they can. The technology is seriously outdated but they are working on updating it apparently.

    Advice to Management

Technology should really be updated, and management should be around more often, I currently see my manager one every couple of months at best.
