Pros
good campas, nice people, enjoy place to work.
Cons
management does not like change, and management has not much communications with their employee
Advice to Senior Management
none
Pros
The only thing I can think of are the benefits.
Cons
Associates do not treat each other with respect. Second shift blames first shift and so on. Budget cuts have reduced moral. Supervisors do not respect the associates.
Advice to Senior Management
Less temps, hire more full - time associates.
Pros
good benefits. not known for random layoffs. if you are liked, then you will be ok, otherwise, pack your bags
Cons
very clickish. there's a lot of back stabbing
Pros
People are generally friendly and nice to work with.
Cons
Opportunity for career growth does happen, but advancement opportunities pretty limited.
Advice to Senior Management
Be objective - it's not all about diversity, diversity, diversity.
Pros
Amazing engineering heritage, product demand is high, solid market footing, autonomy level is relatively high, and very simple field structure.
Cons
Since the North American Sales and Marketing leadership change and the competitive environment has increased, finger-pointing and micro-management have replaced the entreprenurial, creative thinking style which was one of the keys to their success. Most 15+ year managers have never faced adversity and have taken a GM-like leadership stance (highlighted by negative reinforcement) in order to preserve their positions in power.
Advice to Senior Management
It is okay to say "nice job or nice try" in this very competitive market. Fear of ridicule is not the mindset of an effective representative in contact with the dealership body. As for micro-management, it is an overused term of course...with that said, one size does not fit all and you may consider dusting off the old Honda rule of "respect for the individual".
Pros
Everyone is nice and easy going
Cons
low pay, but to be expected for car washer
Pros
Good work life balance. Majority of Associates are nice to work with. Great benefit package with low cost health insurance, pension plan, and post retirement medical. Will not forcefully lay off people. Good place for people that just want to have a job (but not necessary do a good job), earn a paycheck, and retire.
Cons
Company strategy driven by Japan. Senior American management not willing to make tough decisions. Poor compensation structure with low merit and bonuses even in good times. Does not link pay to performance, leading to little difference in compensation between high performers and low performers. Compensation structure encourages complacency and striving to be average. No talent attraction or retention program to attract and retain next generation talent.
Advice to Senior Management
Revamp compensation structure to reflect industry prevailing compensation. Reward high performing Associates so they'll want to stay and contribute to Honda. Be more proactive in letting go low performers. Create a formal talent attraction and retention program to attract new talent. Most of all, give more authority for senior American management to make decisions because there is a deep disconnect between senior Japanese leaders and rank and file.
Pros
Good place to work as a contractor. Limited opportunity for advancement and lower than market pay. But pension is still in place and funded.
Cons
Strong PDCA driven 'demming' culture combined with light senior management creates objectives setting at a department level which creates a 'silo'd' mentality ..Enterprise level initiative is an oxymoron..
Advice to Senior Management
don't be afraid to hire outside contractors
Pros
The Campus is a great place to walk around, gym, baseball and soccer fields.
Once you in, they will keep you for a while, they don't really layoff people.
Cons
The pay is a little on the low side. your best off working as a contractor rather then a full timer...
Advice to Senior Management
Need to really update the Marketing and product sell through chain.
Pros
Great Campus
Race Week
Bike Week
Employee Lease
Closed for the holidays
Cons
Remote Campus
Traffic was awful
Too many contractors
Only Associates were management
