    Pros

The company was more diverse than other companies. Gave employees incentives to attain higher positions and achieve.

    Cons

There is a sense of bullying that some at this company feel entitled to do towards others possibly because of their position or because of the connections that they have with upper management. The bullying I've witnessed and have felt myself was because of my religious background and beliefs. There were also others who were bullied because of their need to be assertive with those who took on the role of bullying. These individuals were then seen as outsiders by all. The bad moral contributed to those in the workplace who constantly stated that they hated the drama that always happened.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to halt the workplace gossip and when a complaint is made to HR, be sure to fully investigate all parties. Favoring a few individuals over the rest because of their connections to management could put this company in a detrimental position.

    Pros

I did not work a lot of extra hours.

    Cons

Very political. The Seattle Office is so small that people do odd things and nobody complains. They need more feedback.

    Advice to Management

Learn to be objective and not hate. It's OK for people to talk, that is called communicating. It's very important.

    Pros

Nice friendly people. The company has diverse employees. They treat most of their employees very well. Good company to work for.

    Cons

Low salaries. Starting salaries are a little below the market. Most of the attention is directed towards the sales department. Not enough promotions from other departments in the company.

    Advice to Management

    Ok benefits, promote hardworking employees.

    Pros

The Seattle office, where they develop their software, is in an awesome location.

    Cons

Just about everything else. They may do a good job consulting in regards to shipping hazardous materials and their manufacturing plant in Chicago, but they should really just get out of the software industry entirely. They have absolutely no idea how to develop, maintain and ship quality software. It's amazing that they release at all, let alone keeping what they do have up running. Upper management has no idea what it takes and tries to paint a pretty picture to the employees. This place is constantly turning over quality developers, only employees too incompetent to find another job stick around.

    Advice to Management

Close down the Seattle office, bring a couple key people back to Chicago and just admit you don't have what it takes to "manufacture" software. Oh, and when you call it "manufacturing" software, you're just displaying your ignorance for all to see.

I have been working at American Labelmark full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I've learned a great deal while employed here. I have a good manager, good location to work, and am surrounded by people who care about putting out a great work product.

    Cons

Pay scale is a little low, and merit could be better recognized.

    Advice to Management

Find a better way to recognize people for their dedication to the job. You do a great job of treating everyone equally, but the unfortunate fact is that we are not all equals. This company could easily go from "a good place to have a career" to "I would never dream of leaving this company". You are so close it is scary. To be fair, I think you are trying to do just that, so keep it up.
