    Bereft of strategic direction and loaded with incompetent managers who bury head in the sands to avoid leadership needs.

    Major Gifts Officer (Former Employee)

    Prosdecent benefits. good cause. nice people in the volunteer cadre.

    Consgrossly inadequate salaries. lifers who who have been there 3 and 4 decades need to go to bring in those who do and those who bring new leadership and ideas. I would tell anyone to give to a better more effective organization.

    Advice to Senior Managementclean house in the management on regional levels and you might start retaining more lower levels staffers who leave in disgust that change and progress never seem to happen.

    A great learning experience

    ProsWorking for an organization that helps our military, patients, and people in need.
    Benefits
    Cross training and blood banking experience
    Pay is fair for what the economy is.

    ConsEmployment opportunities based on personal relationships, not merit.
    Lack of classes to improve production and lack of professionalism among staff.

    Advice to Senior ManagementManagement needs to improve staff motivation, promote better work ethics, and provide such an example themselves toward their employees.

    ProsI was given a tour around the working area on the first day. My supervisor was very friendly and helpful no matter what kind of question I ask. The job was easy to handle also.

    ConsI work in a big office where there are a lot of cubicles. The surprising thing was there are no other people in the office. So I felt very left out. Also, the job was so easy and doesn't require much.
