I worked at American Signature Furniture (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly and helpful staff and management

    Cons

Usually under staffed (enough staff for very slow times, not nearly enough for busy times) resulting in dependency on temp labor

    Advice to Management

Corporate management should think locally as well as company wide as blanket decisions affect different stores differently

    Pros

Laid back environment, Weekdays off, location,

    Cons

Long hours, No incoming customers, you have to pay back hourly checks in order to get a commission check.

    Advice to Management

New management was very rude, did not take consideration of employees feelings and well being. If you want a better sales team learn how to treat your workers with respect.

I have been working at American Signature Furniture full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Can't think of any pros

    Cons

Competitors are passing us by why we figure out "who we are" Upper management could care less about us No values At least 4 maybe 5 layoffs in corporate office in the last 4 years We switch direction or change our focus every few months I could go on and on

    Advice to Management

Get out in the field and listen to the customer and your people. Get rid of the dead weight change in the corporate office that resist change Stop talking about values - show us you have them. Lead by example People in corporate office should work to support people in the field versus being nasty and non-supportive

They call it Human Resources for a reason. Your people make it happen everyday seven days a week.
