I have been working at American Urological Association
Pros – The Association tries hard to make their employees happy with lots of small perks. Some kind of social activity each month and the working conditions are very good. Overall they are very flexible with everyone's situation regarding taking time off, kids, etc.
Cons – Every company has its pitfalls and many have the same problem as the AUA. There are managers, and there are non-managers. I never had any issues working there regarding this but know others that did. Senior Manager bonuses and higher are tied to a salary percentage as opposed to a flat amount which is a joke. Performance evaluation system is unfair depending upon which director you work for. Very limited advancement opportunities. Tons of red tape regarding promotions and the typical "who you know if more important than what you know". Missing the forest for the trees mentality of wasting $10k on something you don't need and having trouble giving a spot award for $100 that went the extra mile.
Advice to Senior Management – Try to retain the employees that care about their job by rewarding them and if possible promote or create opportunities to keep them around instead of the viscous turnover cycle in certain departments.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
