Overall, a really good job (Woodlands Location)

I have been working at Ameripark part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

You do about the same work as you'd do in fast-food, but get paid SO much more,
You get to drive nice cars (which eventually is not so exciting) and have interesting customer service stories to tell others (there's never a dull moment)
You learn more about cars (like test driving luxury cars by parking them)
They work with you when it comes to scheduling,
All suggestions are welcome (unless your manager isn't likable)
    You lose weight,
You learn how to tip decently,
You also become the master of parking a car perfectly in-between the lines,
Driving cars repeatedly can helps your driving ability, and makes you a better driver when it comes to reacting to situations (like dumb people crossing while texting, or kids running out in front of you)
Crappy co-workers will eventually get fired (and we all park cars happily ever after)
If you're a hard worker with integrity and you mess up, your supervisor will have your back,
    You make good friends
If you bust your butt, you'll rise quickly

    Cons

You learn how rude people can be (especially the complementary parkers)
People can't read a sign that says "Do not enter, Valet only" and they always want to argue or negotiate with you. It's pathetic.
Even though you may have worked at your location for a long time, the possibility of getting a new manager that treats you like they just pulled you out from under a rock is likely,
You can get stuck with a crappy manager (but eventually they do something stupid and disappear)
People who have worked there longer than you (even a one month difference) will act like they are your God or Goddess
If you are a bad worker with an attitude problem, don't appreciate your great job, and have bad hygiene, you won't last long,
Sometimes people will leave diapers full of crap in their vehicle, and it will smell worse after fermentation in the summer sun.
Sometimes you'll get cars that you want to park in Lake Woodlands, but can't.
Sometimes you'll be asked to stay later than what your shift calls for, but the tips you make are amazing so don't decline. If you do complain about this job then you should probably go work in fast-food.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When a good number of well behaved/dependable valet attendants are complaining about another valet attendant or manager, then the time/effort needs to be taken to investigate this person, and help them get the pink-slip sooner. When we split tips with someone that is a lazy nuisance, then the workplace morale goes down, causing everyone to be grumpy, especially if that person is our manager. It's easy to spot these guys, just hide and watch how they drive the cars so we can prevent future accident reports. And make sure there is consistency, or else the bad valet attendants will see that as management weaknesses.

I have been working at Ameripark part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

It's an easy and simple job and if you work your way into good accounts, it is very hard to find a part-time job that pays better.

    Cons

Being promoted to management takes years and is hard to come by. The company does not offer any raises and their benefits to part-time employees are a joke.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Yearly raises should be considered for employees that stick around, especially since the job has such a high turn over rate.

I have been working at Ameripark

    Pros

None. Working for Ameripark has no pros that outweigh the cons. Maybe the ability to drive a nice car every now and then. Big whoop.

    Cons

Never a single raise. Work in rain, snow, extreme heat, etc. terrible compensation. Terrible benefits. Especially considering valets are getting in and out of strangers cars, and dealing with cash regularly. No paid time off. No sick days. Nothing.

I have been working at Ameripark part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Promotions are attainable. They recognize hard work and respond to that. Pay is decent.

    Cons

Not a whole lot of communication between management and lower level employees. You also have to deal with unreliable people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More communication, more accountability for money

    Incompetent, and not organized

I worked at Ameripark part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I've worked for ameripark for about 2 months now. One of the good things i liked was; managers were good with working with you with your availability.

    Cons

Tips: I dislike the fact that tips were giving every week instead of every shift. managers said 'you'll make more if we combine all tips together and split it like that." Apparently that wasn't the case. I've been seeing less and less on my tips since week one when i started with the company.

Lack of good management skills and ethics: they want you do things as a runner that they wouldn't do if it was the other way around.

I have been working at Ameripark part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

You get paid every night. Headquarters are very good at what they do.

    Cons

Not aloud to work full-time as a runner. Trust issues with management. Very greedy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Location Managers need to be investigated more, and do not really respect the values that HR and headquarters message, rules, and policies.

I worked at Ameripark full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Upper management is very open to new ideas. Very informal and fun corporate atmosphere (ping pong table, company outings, very casual dress, corporate cross fit gym membership). Great opportunity for young accountants to learn the ropes, and have direct contact with the CFO, clients, and operational management.

    Cons

Simple corporate structure means that there's no real room for upward movement, unless you move into the operational side. Starting pay for new accountants can be seriously low, but if you like a lot of work-life balance, that can be worth it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    None at the moment

    Cons
