    Pros

Compensation, nice offices at corporate, benefits are ok

    Cons

Micromanaging leadership, culture sucks big time in IT. The CIO will be in front of the board explaining why IT people are quitting in droves soon!

    Advice to Management

Don't micromanage people, stand up for your employees being tossed under the bus by their co workers. Don't be hypocrites. Let people screw up sometimes so they can learn! People make mistakes even when they work their hardest every day. If you screw up you shouldn't have to worry about being fired!

    Pros

I was able to learn the way brokerage accounts worked in the financial industry. I prepared and managed accounts for several clients and learned the trade. If you're thinking about going into finance, I'd definitely start here and branch out later. Learn the ropes and then fly. Ameriprise is very organized. Good potential to grow since they sponsor your exams too.

    Cons

Pretty square job and becomes monotonous after awhile. Then again, I'm biased because I'm artistic and need to be in a field where I'm allowed to think creatively.

    Pros

Your income potential and career growth as a financial planner are in your hands if you are willing to put in the work.

    Cons

Financial Adviser was not very knowledgeable on investment theory and what are the main drivers of investment returns. He seemed more concerned about selling products than whether the product he was selling was actually a good product for the client.

    Pros

Excellent opportunity to learn financial planning. Ameriprise has impressive proprietary software for creating plans as well as client contact management.

    Cons

Each office vibe is dependent on the personality of the franchisee, and Home Office has very little impact on one's daily experience. In my case, the advisors I worked with were unpleasant, unprofessional, almost unstable, so it was like walking on eggshells every day.

    Advice to Management

Do some HR training with your advisors.

    Pros

    Stable work environment

    Low pressure

    Cons

The culture and work environment can be very boring.
For a motivated individual, it can be very underwhelming.
