    Pros

Good base salary and benefits, accomidations

    Cons

Amgen full potential is a big scam. forcing laying off employees and replace with same employees but contract workers Out sourcing almost all internal services. If you complain about your manager to HR. you better leave and not look back. Retaliation is life and well from the management as a consequences to escalate the complain to HR.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you have assumed failing employee performance, do not look further than his/her manager.

I worked at Amgen full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great pay and benefits, best gym in the county, nice amenities and services available on campus

    Cons

Fierce competition, few promotions or advancement opportunities, too much reliance on offshore vendors leads to no work life balance, low adherence to core values across management, more layoffs expected in 2015- at least 1000 more headcount

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reel in executive spending and bring work back to the U.S.

I have been working at Amgen

    Pros

The transparency with management has been outstanding, this job always keep me challenged and on my feet. I really enjoy the team effort in the department as well.

    Cons

The space that I work in is really not conducive to optimal performance as we are subject to other conversations and were all bundled together in a cubicle like area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop making so many changes in relatively short period of time or you will continue to see the domino effect of low employee moral and overall performance hindered.

I have been working at Amgen full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Amgen is a larger company which allows for job advancement. In my group work/life balance was very good. The IT group is large, so you can have exposure to very large Enterprise systems.

    Cons

The IT group is quite large, which adds quite a bit of bureaucracy. They outsource and hire far too many contractors to be as effective as they could be.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If a contractor has been with the company for 2-3+ year, you should Do-The-Right-Thing and make them an FTE.

    Recommends

    No opinion of CEO
