Pros
Before the layoffs and the work was outsourced to Asia, Amkor at RTP was a good place to work. The work was interesting and the salary was competitive.

We were lead to believe that our RTP fab had a place in the Amkor overall strategy. Instead it was mostly shut down.
The upper and middle management was in frequent flux.

Advice to Senior Management
Cut half the directors, sr. directors, vps, corp vps and start embracing telecommuting as this saves space at facilities, 4/10 shifts or nite shifts for folks that would need that for their children.

Lower salaries than industry average. Korean and American cultural differences can make progress slow and labored. Senior management decisions to not pursue some technology advancements more aggressively will likely be detrimental to the company in the long run.
Advice to Senior Management
Empower the employees more to give better results. Communicate company objectives to all ranks, not just senior management.
