- lots of global projects and work, so your learning is also international.
- small firm with flat structure. Makes you responsible early.
- culture is performance and delivery oriented.
- fast growth and career is provided to people who perform and demonstrate capability.
- tough business to be in.

Cons- its a tough business so success does not come quickly.
- Small firm so your weaknesses also get known.
- nature of work has ambiguity, which you need to learn to handle.

Not a good place for growth (Amrop India)

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Gurgaon, Haryana (India)

I worked at Amrop full-time for more than a year

Prosrigorous training, good understanding of research in the executive search space

Cons1. Franchisee model - Typical Indian LALA company. Run by husband and wife!
2. Global network, but of no use, no common database, no interaction. It is not even appreciated, half the time group companies are fighting over fees!
3. No employee development - no career path/growth path, no retention policies
4. Horrible work culture - no work life balance ALLOWED! people are forced to come in on saturdays, work on holidays!
5. No control in search process, all partner driven
6. The senior consultant does the same work as a research associate!!!
7. High attrition
8. No worthwhile policies in place
9. Once employed, partners think they own employees!

Amrop is a good company to start off with if you have to grow as an HR professional.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Gurgaon, Haryana (India)

I worked at Amrop

ProsThe industry exposure is huge. Since you speak to people at CXO levels, you get to know the industry trend, their company info, competitors position in the market and career progressions within the company.
High exposure given in terms being present in client meetings.
Establishing network
You get to know people's movement along the ladder across industries.

ConsHectic schedule. You have to be on phone 24X7. This can be sometimes annoying.
Each call lasts for 30-45 minutes.
Little work life balance
