    Pros

Good starting pay Availability for overtime in some stores benefits are okay Employees are all amazing fun environment

    Cons

they may/ may not move you farther than they tell you that they will move you. scheduling is awful at the faster stores, meaning you are there all day, everyday.. get off at midnight and be scheduled to open at 7am... Pay cap for positions is low, and to make the "so called" good money you have to work 70+ hours a week. no home/work life balance.

    Advice to Management

Schedule more people at busier stores. hold true to promises of keeping people within the distance you tell them.

    Pros

Good money, but most of it comes from working overtime. 13-16 hr shifts and no time for anything else.

    Cons

You are replaceable in a heartbeat. Culture of fear. Expected to close, then open, never getting any sleep. Work every holiday, including Christmas and Thanksgiving. 70 hr work weeks every first of the month. Micro managed. Increased expectations, no bonuses or incentives. Yelled at constantly, even when you do a great job. Punished for making goals by increasing next goal to impossible lengths. You will miss out on everything life has to offer if you work for this company and get absolutely nothing in return. Not even a reference for a job well done as they will only verify employment.

    Advice to Management

Pointless to give advice to you, Corporate, as it will never be YOUR fault. It is always that we were "not a good fit" when we resign. Wake up and make a change! No reason we cannot have set schedules! No reason you cannot have 2 main managers, one for day, one for night. You will lose all your good employees if you work us into the ground like this. Your business will fail ultimately, because you will lose your good people, promote the unready, and never give a damn about always wanting more, more, more from us. How about a monetary thank you? And not a Papa John's pizza! And a new policy EVERY DAY, in conflict with what we were told the week before, ensures that no one is ever on the same page or knows what is correct anymore. Unprofessional, as people respond better when it looks like you know what you're doing.

    Pros

Generous entry-level pay, full-time employment, competitive benefits package, you don't clock-out for lunch, the company is very structured.

    Cons

The company is a little too structured, lunch "breaks" are constantly interrupted, the scheduling makes it impossible to have a social life, ZERO WORK-LIFE balance, Amscot is very demanding of it's Associates to be flexible but the company won't accommodate it's own people.

    Advice to Management

Come up with a more comprehensive scheduling format that promotes or at the very least doesn't prohibit a fair work-life balance for Associates.

The pay is decent. Starts out at $12.00/hour

    Cons

horrible micromanaging, stuck in the cage for entire shift which could be 12+ hours, dealing with low class customers, poor work/life balance. Prison like environment

    Pros

Location who doesn't like to work in FL?

    Cons

Worked in IT. This was one of the worst places I have ever worked. The CIO micromanages the department from watching your screen to actually standing behind you watching you work at times. You are not allowed to walk past certain areas next to IT yet share the same open area. If data and records need that level of security then they should be in a separate area. Additionally the military could take a few pointers on PC security thumb drives are forbidden in IT computers.

    Pros

There is higher than average pay

    Cons

Manage by fear and intimidation. Do not plan on having a life or plan on ever being sick, because you will be expected to come to work and infecting everyone you work with.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Stop acting like they are the enemy. Your employees have good ideas and ways to improve the company, but there is such an atmosphere of only those in corporate can be listened to.

    the employees are decent people

    Cons

it's either their way or no way. you get written up for everything and in trouble for everything. I worked at the one in Clermont for a few months and the co manager Elizabeth thought she was better then everyone else.

    Advice to Management

train your management team to be better to their employees then maybe you wouldn't have so much change of employees.

    Pros

Working with a few good associates that made the innocent mistake of applying to this company.

    Cons

Let the truth be told about this corrupt company! First mistake made would be applying for this company cause once you're in trust me company owns you! Upon arrival at corporate training you will receive a your Amscot Jumpsuit to wear and you will be in a classroom where a corporate teacher will teach you all about financial services and the company in one week (better pay attention or you will be sent home jobless) Then after training you will report to your facility where your sentence will begin. Once in your life is over and you will and I repeat WILL have to deal with the fallowing..., 1. Rude and Nasty Customers. Let me give you a example ... I've had to deal with meth heads, drunks, drug addicts, murders, sex offenders, people saying whatever they feel like to your face that is insulting cause don't forget these people want everything for nothing and they will make your life a living hell (and the best part is the same ones return weekly) and you will sit there and take it cause if you try and defend yourself Amscot will show you the door! The customers will lie, cheat and try to scam you just to see if they can mess you up so you give them more money! And don't forget the tootsie rolls you will enjoy handing them out to the customers but make sure you give out handfuls cause these people eat them as their lunch and will have no problem demanding more as you're in the middle of counting their money or doing a transaction. As for the customers entering the building you will have to deal with constantly pulling them up to the window because it's so difficult for them to fallow the rules and if you don't do it fast enough Amscot's cameras will see and you will get the phone call that you are not pulling the customers up. 1st-5th of each month you will see all your customers as 24 windows will be filled and a line out the door. Hopefully at this point they're not screaming for you to hurry up and pounding on the window with a lovely look on their face. 2. Scheduling- Amscot loves to work you especially when they refuse to hire people. You will be working 8-16 hours in one shift and scheduled to return to work to open occasionally. Please cooperate because if you don't plan on not having a job the next day. Some weeks you will have 40 and some weeks you will have 45-60 hours. If you don't want that many hours Amscot will tell you to deal with it. You will never have a weekend off and don't call out sick because there is no one to cover your shift so you will deal with the consequences the next day if you still have a job. Wanna enjoy the holidays with your family? Get over it you will be working all the holidays if you like it or not I guarantee it. Workplace environment- Amscot has courses on bullying and workplace harassment which they don't practice what they preach. Corporate has no problem talking down to you and telling you what you can and cannot do in your work environment and personal life. Examples: You cannot hang out with any of the associates and if you do better not get caught. They pry into your personal life and if anything you say that rubs them the wrong way they will find a reason to get rid of you. Your managers in the branch will make your life hell to cause they are looked at by corporate and if they don't perform and enforce the prison's rules they will be gone along with yourself. You will be given a script on how to talk and what to say and if you don't use exact word for word you will get talked down to by your bl or dl if not in person but over emails that you will receive daily on your innocent errors you made the previous day and then grab a pen because you will be written up for these errors. If the stress is causing you to mess up constantly because you can't focus you will be sent for a "random" drug screen so Amscot knows it's just them and not you doing drugs (expect as many as 4 drug screens a year) Collections- on top of your stressful and aggravated day you will be required to call hundreds of customers that have refused to pay back. You will get cursed out at,lied to, threatened and you will have to take the abuse given and still ask when the customer when he or she will be paying back (remember Amscot is recording these conversations 😊). Guard Duty- Amscot sends your district leader to your branch weekly to make sure you're doing your job correctly and to quiz you on the rules of the company to make sure you are complying (take it in mind the handbook is 200+ pages of rules you will comply with) you better answer these questions correctly or you will get talked down to or yelled at then corrected with what you should be doing or saying. If that isn't enough Amscot will have a compliance monitor come in and breath over your neck making sure you are doing and saying everything correctly and if you've mess up under the pressure and stress that they've caused then just be prepared to sign the write up that your manager will be approaching you with. Promotions- Wanna better yourself and make more money? No problem Amscot loves prompting associates who wanna get one step closer to being owned by the company. If you even think about taking a promotion you have just made the biggest mistake of your life. Upon arriving for your co or branch management interview you will be greeted by one of the corporate associates who will put on a fake smile and get you all happy and worked up and once you hear the words "Frazier or Ben will be right it" you just better turn around and walk out and take the unemployment route cause they will close the door and degrade you and get all up in your face and tell you how you don't even belong in their company and wait to see your reaction and either answer back nicely or take all their abuse in. After you have cried and your anxiety has hit a high level you will either be handed the job or be sent back to your branch with a negative feedback on how you will never be promoted and don't apply ever again and at that point in your career at Amscot you will be stuck at the same position forever. Raises- raises used to exist at Amscot until the company had no choice but to stop doing taxes which means loss in income for them as for you. You won't be eligible for a raise unless the branch is making a increase in profit ( there are long term associates that haven't seen a raise in 3+years and ever will) so prepare to work for the wage you got hired at. Conclusion- Take my advice people I made the biggest mistake in working for this company. I've seen innocent people fired and have been threatened and harassed the whole 4+ years I worked here. You will hate your life and ruin your family life. This company does not care about you or your family they will drive you to the point where you have no control of anything and there will be no way out unless you leave on your own. You have been warned!

    Advice to Management

Sell the company! You have ruined many lives and ruined families. You are a heartless company and could care less about the associates who work for you.
