    Challenging

    Layout Engineer (Current Employee)
    Wilmington, MA

ProsProvides excellent opportunity to develop specific skills to keep you competitively productive.

ConsNot working as part of any team, no incentives offered for extra effort. Work you like dogs with no piece of the pie in return.

Advice to Senior ManagementWith the last reduction of the profit sharing bonus, you have brought the majority of your employees just trying to make it with today's economic challenges to their knees. It is with their blood, sweat and tears you profit. Know that people are miserable, productivity has slowed to a crawl and there is no gratification working here. Restore the profit sharing bonus to what it was and give the workers back something and restore pride to the workforce.

One of the few really good companies in semiconductors

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGreat people at this place... I made some good friends I'll keep forever. Some product families are really strong, some no so much. But the good ones dominate the business.

ConsSometimes it's too nice and they keep people that should be retired. Sometimes they loose their focus and hunger to win business.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't stay fat and lazy on old business, take risks, margins won't always be high by themselves, you have to work on it.

chilled out place to work at

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGood place to work if you are looking for relaxed work environment. The main focus is on technology, and employees are not pushed forward.

ConsDecision making is very slow. Lots of bureaucracy. Too many managers. Sometimes they lose the focus of customer and try to chase the best performance even though it is not needed.

Very engineering driven company, slow in all respects and not a good place for career growth.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Boston, MA

ProsRay Stata (founder). Solid engineering talent. Specialized market niche based on technology leadership. Great people. Haven for semiconductor professionals in the Boston area. Customers really value the brand.

ConsRun too much by "old buddy" network, so a lot of less-than-professional practices are accepted. Future growth potential is doubtful, especially with the "betting big" approach. Often fails to compete in the big leagues because of bureaucratic leadership and sclerotic engineers.

Advice to Senior ManagementManufacturing is dragging you down. The company needs to be a lot of more multi-cultural.

    Very laidback IT Dept.

IS Applications Analyst II (Current Employee)
    Norwood, MA

ProsLaid back. No rush for deadlines. Innovative projects and technical tool sets.
People are very helping, friendly and supportive. No issues working from home or remotely till you get the job done. A Matrix work environment. Overall a good place to begin a s/w career as 'll get to learn many processes of IT in a product based domain.

ConsZero or very less documentation. Everything is in people's head. Many old hags in the IT dept, lacks youngsters. Pay is not competitive as per market rate. Most of the work is outsourced to offshore teams and very minimal inhouse expertise.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease give more attention to your IT dept. though its revenue consuming but still adds value to your firm and is important.

Learned a lot. Given lots of responsibility, independent work.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsI was given flexible hours and lots of responsibility. I was treated as a full time employee with paid days off and sick days. Fellow employees were very knowledgeable and helped guide me with questions I asked.

ConsNot a fun work environment. Very isolated and defined role. Little interaction with coworkers outside meetings. Some meetings were not time well spent.

Advice to Senior ManagementCheck on the interns and see if they are not only learning but having fun.
