I have been working at Analysys Mason full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Small environment where it's easy to get support from other people. Work-life balance depends on the project. Working day can go anywhere from 7 to 30 hours.

    Cons

Bonus scheme is merely representative. Very political environment.

    Advice to Management

Streamline the support functions (HR, resourcing, finance) which are too large compared to the size of the company. Invest more on the consultants and on their personal growth. Pay more attention at their requests. Happy consultants will perform better.

    Pros

30 years in business with a strong reputation for consultancy in all telecoms related activities. Also has a significant research business dedicated to telecoms

    Cons

Limited by being so telecoms focused as telecoms companies look for new revenue in other industry sectors

    Advice to Management

To be aware that the requirements of telcoms companies are changing and consultancy and research will need to get ahead of their clients in order to be useful to them

I worked at Analysys Mason part-time

    Pros

Smart, friendly people with very strong topic expertise; an informal culture whilst also very professional (suits in the office etc).

    Cons

Has suffered from shareholder interference/short term decisions that demotivate employees and restrict growth prospects.

    Pros

You will be working with the experts in the telecoms. If you want to increase your knowledge in this field, you will not be disappointed here!

    Cons

The atmosphere is not the most lively and you can feel like you are not valued. Training and career progression policy was unclear.

    Advice to Management

Small things that make employees feel valued, can make a huge difference. The cost could easily be offset by reducing employee churn.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Some nice co-workers, quiet and modern work environment, free drinks and Friday lunches, good tech support.

    Cons

Virtually everyone was introverted and hated any noise in the office (including phones ringing or work-related conversation). As soon as someone was a level above you, they'd act like the MD to you. Feedback was in the form of "you should have done this" afterwards, instead of "you can do it this way" beforehand, which was VERY unhelpful for starting new projects. It was basically an assembly line of report writing - some people had their time booked for the next 3 months, since you were given a set time per report and could in theory plan everything out (but things always came up).

    Advice to Management

Get some most interesting people to help make the work environment less like a factory.
