I worked at Anderson Merchandisers full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Free movies, interesting contests.. They do put you up in nice hotels when you have to go out of town, but other than that there isn't much else the company does for its field associates.

    Cons

Outdated equipment, training sucks, they don't listen to field employees, and peanuts for pay. Training is mediocre at best, store management doesn't care what you have to say, even if you are trying to give them good advice in regards to their media department

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take some time to listen to the people in the field.

    Pros

    Decent pay & free movies

    Cons

Staff is often short, regional supervisors are either un believable with perfect expectations & hardly listen to problems with staff in an effective manner or are hands off with no interjection even when needed for sake of work

I worked at Anderson Merchandisers part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Work on your own, can somewhat make your own hours if your part time. You get to meet celebrities when they have signings for books or CD's. That's pretty cool. They offer insurance, even if your part time. Sometimes the company sends you free stuff.

    Cons

Company just wants a body in there to stock shelves. You're in Walmart! Most smell, bathrooms are disgusting, don't feel safe at night. Employees at Walmart are pretty nice, just the clients are the smelly ones. There are midnight releases and some Saturdays. Lug heavy boxes back and forth. Search the back room for your stuff, which is scattered everywhere.

I worked at Anderson Merchandisers part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The starting pay is awesome, the training is effective, and I've always been a fan of getting my work done early in the morning. I worked in various Best Buy stores, and it's nice to have flexibility in terms of which store you work at. Getting free DVDs in the mail was also pretty cool.

    Cons

The district manager I worked under was great, but I had good and bad experiences with different co-workers. I had amazing hours (30-35) for part-time while I worked in Phoenix, but once I moved to Flag, I got cut to less than ten a week. I also had mixed experiences with the Best Buy staff; some were assistive and positive, but others, including some managers, were generally unpleasant. Plus, the whole not getting a discount on Best Buy purchases made me feel ostracized from their team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think the biggest issue is addressing the differences between Anderson and Best Buy staff, and helping to foster a positive relationship between those teams.

I have been working at Anderson Merchandisers part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Convenient Schedule,Day time shift available

    Cons

Senior employees treat new employees awful, very unprofessional plus they train you so slightly and wrongly. If you are an experienced person then, that's when you know that these full timers or managers don't care what so ever about there job. They are just there for their paychecks making a living not because they are loving there job. Ohhh!!! and watch out if you go over 5 hours without clocking out for lunch they will be on top of that .They do this to cut hours so you can speed up and go home.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring new hires with experience put them on the field give them the opportunity to treat employees decently professional and fairly. These old employees(full timers and management) are bully,s it is terrible.
